You don't want to change makeup right before so any changes you are interested in making should be done several months in advance just in case. The mistake most brides make is putting their makeup on too heavy. Yes it should be slightly heavier as photos are taken but you aren't on stage. You don't need "distance makeup" as the camera is zooming in on you.

I can tell you I am a huge fan of the mineral makeup. I think it makes oily skin less oily (since you aren't adding oil to it) and covers up problems. I use Bare Essentials and love it. If you are naturally very white, they also come with "warmth" to give you sun. Mac eyeshadow in my opinion is some of the best.

I used brown and gold makeup for my eyes, just slightly heavier than normal and mascara which I normally don't wear. It make me look sunkissed and not made up. I don't like makeup and didn't usually wear it (back then). I didn't want to look like I was covered.

Try out different styles beforehand. If you are doing a hair trial, do it on that day. I recommend Avon Glimmersticks eye liner or use a mineral one with the angled brush. If you wet the brush it will go on like liquid eyeliner without being as problematic. Avon Glimmersticks go on so easily. Put it on after your eyeshadow instead of before like your normally would to really define your eyes.

Pick a shadow that brings out your eyes and isn't too trendy. Think Priscilla Presley's bright blue eye shadow? You don't want to look like that 10 years from now. Look natural.

Don't experiment with sunless tanners beforehand. If you want more sun, practice with the sunless tanners for several months as it will get slightly deeper each time. Orange is not a good look. The more subtle ones like Jergens take more than a couple applications before you see results.

Most importantly for an outdoor wedding, don't forget the sunscreen. My sister's moisturizer isn't spf (I use Oil of Olay complete which has spf 15 or 30 depending) and with all the pictures, she got a sunburn and the last group of pictures she is red.

Really though it will depend on your face and your reactions. You don't want to try a new makeup and have a reaction to it. Since your skin is oily, get some blotter paper and carry with you. Between the ceremony and reception, you can touch up and if you use mineral makeup, it won't change the appearance of your makeup at all.
