Do You Believe Is Right That Non Profits Spend Donation Funds in Luxury Hotels, Cars, Etc.?
While working with the victims of Haiti's earthquake taken to the Dominican Republic, I found many individuals from different non-profits enjoying stays at luxury hotels and renting expensive cars with donation funds, as if they were vacationing (doing nothing at all for the victims). Mean while, my FL non-profit only received twenty bucks donation, and we had 92 earthquake victims to help and we used our personal savings to help them while funds lasted. The campaign on the media telling the people to donate only to "reputable" (should I say, "wasteful"?) non profits, seems to have convinced the people to donate only to those entities, instead to other smaller non-profits that really help people without wasting money.

You are so rght on this subject. I posted answers before with regard too the public being aware of these 'huge out of control' cash donation demands from all and everybody.
When the dust has settled in Haiti - this will become known as the 'biggest fraud' scheme in recent years. Every single time these disasters happen and these so-called 'charities' swing into action 'fraud takes over' - every single time. The public never seem to understand these so-called 'well known charities' take out some 70% of donations for themselves before any money is spent on the intended purpose and (as you said) the smaller 'non-profit' ones get hardly any money at all.
While people may wish too help out and have a 'humane attitude' about Haiti all will be 'taken for a ride' as to there donated money sent. There are/will be 100's of people all wanting there % share out of all the soon to be millions maybe billions of $ that is/will be slushing around out there. From organisers - Haiti politicians/gangsters/carpet baggers and anyone esle who can get there hands on a % of the money because theres no proper control with regard to the handling of these donations.
The 'gravey train ride' in Haiti for the selected few has already started - and there will be no stopping it now.!! These outside governments donations of 'taxpayers money' should be 'the extent' of the public donations - its now got completely out of hand - the public being made too feel 'bad' if they don't contribute any money - the 'celebs all being paid for there services' out of these donations and none of them donating any of there own money - some have 'claimed too' - but that can never be proved.
I noticed on TV the other day - the Haiti leader was 'demanding' all the cash donations 'must be handled by him' for distribution - this is the same guy who squanderd all the money (millions) given by outside governments in the past on himself and his Swiss bank Accounts and none of the peoples of Haiti saw any benefit from the monies he recived.
The public need to take a 'big step back and think' with regard too all these cash donations being given so freely by them.
