Book burning. A flag is a quilt of sorts, and I know my mother would always burn her worn quilts - it was a symbol of moving on or cleansing, and flags can be burned in that manner. But a book? Unless it was a personal diary or memoir written by one's own hand, book burning is an abomination. Especially in this new age of Kindle and such things. Books are pieces of knowledge, valuable because they are the equivalent of a piece of the human mind. It's like burning a mind.

I'm from the United States. Partially. I've lived in the United Kingdom for half my life, and my father is a Brit, if that means anything at all.

I'd have to say book burning because I love books, but in the USA I think they're more offended by burning the flag.

I still laugh about the shoe throwing at Bush. Wonder how that originated?

I'm a British citizen living in California & want to go home!

People put their hard work and time on books, to burn it is very disrespectful. It does depend what book, though. Jamaica
