I have dealt with a serious case of psoriasis since I was a teen and I have never heard of anyone dying from it. There have been times that the itching gets so bad that I scratch till I bleed. It is important that if your friend is getting to this point, he/she keep these areas clean as to not cause any infection. There are many topical(not oral) creams that are over the counter which will help with the itching at your local pharmacy. I will also recommend that your friend talk to a therapist before he/she make a critical decision. Psoriasis may not be curable but it can definitely be controlled.

I dont know much about this. A friend of mine has it really bad and says the meds make him sick and he can't work on them so he cant take them.

The other day he told me he was going to leave me something when if he dies in a few months from now. I really need to know if he is talking...

Usually psoriasis itself would not be the issue as much as:

A. the lesions getting infected

or

B. side effects from a treatment, such as a biologic treatment which lowers the T cells

or

C. Stress caused by psoriasis which affects other areas of the person's life

The cause of psoriasis is overreaction of the immune system. Keeping it in a balanced state is the key point of battling this disease. I try to eat healthy food, as less red meat as possible, and avoid stress as much as I can.

@ Van I do know what it is, I have it. On the computer it listed heart attack and more things an will kill you. So I wanted another opinon.
