I do not know what he has done.

However if it physically helps some Haitians, then that has to be good. Better he gives money to help desperate people rather than to people desperate for his money.

Don't you think the Haitians will see through them, I am sure the average Haitians is smarter than the average Scientologist.

I'm not a Scientoligist but have been put thought the wringer with these people in many ways. I do now and always will call it a CULT.

I think it's great that the Travolta's want to bring aid to help Haiti. I hope many more people of his wealth will help them also. Now as for the Scientology Ministers I don't think an "Assist" is going to help people much but if they give money and supplies then let them. They will need volunteers for a long time to come. I doubt that anybody is going to convert these people in to Scientoligist no matter how hard they try. They have nothing to give the CoS back.

I am a bit concerned about he was able to get his jet in there, when there are so many planes waiting days to land.

I hope that, before going to Haiti, the Travoltas were able to understand what was really needed right now in Haiti and are able to provide that. If so....good for them! If not....well, there will be more than enough criticism and press to go around.

As for the ministers going with them, I'm sure the Haitian people need emotional support as much as they need physical support...I'm just wondering if, without meeting the physical needs of the people, how much the Haitians are willing to listen.

The publicity is going to follow them, no matter what they say or do - so why shouldn't they do something meaningful?

I think it's great. An amazing thing to do, actually. How can you critiscize someone for wanting to help. And do you guys even know what a Scientology minister is? I don't, but find out before you critiscize.

I think the Travolta's seem like really decent people, and that was a lovely thing to do.

They are good people, and you guys need to shut up with this ignorant, arrogant anti-religion/Scientology crap. Does it matter what religion a person is? No. All that matters is that they are a good person, and John obviously is.

What's the difference what 'religious leaders' are going to Haiti to help? Help is help...who knows who or what will eventually help the best! I'm very sure that John Travolta has not only given money but I"m sure that he has helped in many ways. People should stop already with "Scientology" bashing. Especially at this time...what have all of YOU done?...and I'm NOT a Scientologist!

Funny how he gets to fly into the airport, which is supposedly overloaded, and yet Doctors Without Borders had their flights turned back several times. Now he may have brought in a small amount of aid supplies, but if he had any reason beyond a combination of grandstanding and dragging Scientology into it I would be surprised. The last thing they need in Haiti is a bunch of Scientology ministers, unless they all happen to be trauma surgeons.

As much as I love this country, why is the US military making the decisions (in a country in which the govt has not fallen); in deciding who gets to fly in and out of Haiti. Mexico was one of the first countries to send two flights of immediate life saving medical equipment& medicine to Haiti within hours of the runway opening. They along with immediate medicine, life saving equip/ aid from France were turned BACK by our military. Either way you look at it. People died because of a military agenda. If you question whether this is true check out: 'You Tube' Disputes emerge over Haiti aid control'.It shows BBC correspondent witnessing tanks and AK-47's roaring down the street as people pleaded for help. Mexico being one of th poorest countries in North America should be highly commended for their generous humanitarian giving to a country in desperate need. Now, the John Travolta thing? Is it public media campaigning for Scientology or actually getting in there and rolling up you & Kelly's sleeves and helping the Haitian people? If he is doing the second. Then he and his wife are to be applauded. If not? He should forever live in shame.

I think it's a good thing. Also, if you disagree with or state any negative comments about scientology, It makes you look very unsmart. This is because 90% of people who say scientology is stupid, do not even understand or are even aware of the theories and even topic of what scientology is!

But, back to the question, I think it's good thing. I mean, celebrities like, John Trovolta, (and many other) have about a dozen people to help them make decisions like these just to make sure he has a positive impression of the public.

    Good Topic

Now is not the time to draw a line in the sand. He was able to fill a plane with supplies and get there. Stop the hating about his religion. I am not a scientologist, nor do I want to be. HOWEVER, that beng said, if people are willing to go to haiti and offer emotional comfort and strength..what is the problem?

You all comprehend me AND my Conservative perspectives, yet right here is the place I chop up from the %.. Pelosi (as much as i in my opinion dislike her) is third interior the Succession of workplace to the Presidency. it relatively is of a few undertaking for her safety that President Bush desperate to guard the Speaker's delivery lower back to her District in a militia plane. regrettably, they chosen a airplane that would as a rule seat over one hundred passengers in impressive convenience, yet seeing as the way it relatively is for Madame Pelosi, it relatively is instead supplied like a flying palace, comprehensive with a mattress room, bogs, a parlor, a eating room, and a galley such as you and that i've got by no ability experienced in something different than a private shape. If it have been my selection, she'd be flying domicile in an air rigidity owned commuter jet, piloted by using an experienced wrestle-veteran pilot. this is in simple terms straightforward sense, yet I see that straightforward sense hasn't been considered everywhere close to Washington for some time now. She flies domicile each weekend in that jumbo jet, burning insane ammounts of gasoline. right it is a hyperlink:

What they need is real doctors, not faith healers. Some local Christian workers recently returned from Haiti. They said they were just in the way because the helpers Haiti really needed was trained doctors and nurses.
