How do you feel about the french government law to ban the burqa in public places?

What do you think of the following report from France about banning the burqa in public places such as schools and govt

institutions. Do you understand why the French feel like this or do you think they are being unreasonable?

I agree with it totally and I wish Egypt will /can do the same,,(even in the streets),,,The thing that I do not agree at the explanation (women oppression..or so,,, as It can be also by the free will of a disturbed woman...). There is no absolute freedom, if this freedom can be used to cause hazards to the society,, How can a police man checks the ID of a Niqabi woman?? or should he wait for a female policewoman to do so!!!,,, what if there is no availability!!! would we cancel ID cards ?licenses? to achieve equality between niqabi women and the non one,, .I do not care at all if (some ) here do not like my answer,, actually , I know for sure it is not based on any Islamic rules,,and it creates lots of security hazard,,, in addition to (social ) hazards,,,People usually are afraid from the unknown,,, why someone wants to be unknown (to terrify people??),,, Plus ,it creates lots of dispute among people for no reason than thinking that Muslims are retard (to care about something not even religious,,funny)

Now,, before I am slashed by people: i want them to read the following: very interesting article :

    http://www.alarabiya.net/articles/2010/01/03/96207...

(you can translate that to English by Google,,) ..

    --------------------------------------

@G: they want to make their lives miserable:!!!!!! Ya Ragel !!!!,,,The Moroccans in (the Netherlands) are making my life miserable myself (hahaha),,,it is a long story and you know it (I am sure),,if the Algerians burn cars in France when they won Egypt(for no reason than expressing happiness,,) who is making whom life miserable,, anyway,,,No ,G#2,, The Muslims in Europe are living a quality life,, that they could not get it in their own country: if they felt the opposite , they could simply leave,,,Can't they???...by the way: when the Muslims want to make conferences , they hold them in Europe, (they do not dare to hold them in the Arabic world , being afraid to be arrested)...and You know like I know, that most of the Muslims in Europe have a very low understanding of Islam,,,

It is not fair to say (They want them to be miserable-victimization feeling -which irritates me myself) that is itself one of the reasons that the Europeans are more far day by day of the Muslims there who use that always for no reason , than to gain more benefits than the ordinary Europeans

Fair neutral answer,,as to be HONEST...

First of all, the Burqa will still be allowed on the street.

They don't want it in public schools, hospitals, government offices and banks, etc.

It makes sense to have it banned in these places, because you need to be able to see the person's face. Especially in a bank. Anyone could walk in wearing a burqa and commit a robbery, no one would know who it was. The Qur'an does not say the burqa is required, but conservative dress is. And one of the reasons the French revolution occurred was for France to become secular, and the burqa goes against it. It's the same reason why they banned ANY religious items at schools, for it to remain secular. So I agree. Maybe the do-gooders of the world don't. o.O

in the beginning, the Burqa will nonetheless be allowed on the line. they do no longer like it in public faculties, hospitals, government places of work and banks, etc. It is sensible to have it banned in those places, because of the fact you will possibly desire to be waiting to confirm the guy's face. particularly in a financial business enterprise. anybody might desire to stroll in wearing a burqa and commit a theft, no one could be attentive to who it grew to become into. The Qur'an would not say the burqa is needed, yet conservative gown is. And between the justifications the French revolution happened grew to become into for France to grow to be secular, and the burqa is going against it. that's the comparable rationalization why they banned ANY religious products at faculties, for it to proceed to be secular. So I agree. perhaps the do-gooders of the international do no longer. o.O

First we have to differentiate between burqa and veil. Covering the face is not required or requested by Islam and forbidden during pilgrimage. While veil is required by Islam which is not an Islamic uniform. It's only 3 conditions to be found in women dress to be accepted by Islam.

Now my opinion; I agree with the French and in Egypt we try to ban covering the face inside universities and schools. In Egypt it's socially more accepted as we know it has a cultural background even if it's not mainly from the Egyptian culture. Although I agree with the French government or any European government to do the same, I just hope it's not part of anti-Islamic policy.

My opinion is not only mine or other normal people in Egypt, it's also similar to the Egyptian mufti [the head of scholars who is responsible and specialised]. It means this is the Islamic opinion in Egypt.

    Thank you for the question.

About time a western goverment was brave enough to do this,i wish the british goverment could be as brave. Why should people hide their faces when there religion does not insist upon it ,is it just another act of provocation on the western world by people who just dont want to fit in with the society they have been welcomed into, surely the the vast majority of the peace loving muslim population dont want to see these people casting a shadow on them, lets see them start to condemn more openly this mindless minority..

Well i guess France better be firm with nudists then, I think they should ban men and women from getting naked at beaches? How about that? Anyhow Burqa is not obligatory in Islam but France better no longer hide behind the "Freedom for everyone" mask because we as Muslims don't buy that crap no longer. They want to do that because it's a state law, fine Muslims should follow in, then their people in Egypt should be treated by very strict laws banning them from dressing in inappropriate ways or ban them from consuming alcohols or eating pork and what not,how about that? Similar treatment or would that be harsh for the French or the rest of the foreigners in Egypt?

@kiki 187:Yeah go ahead and you do that and we will flog the living sh!t out of you, happy now barbarian?

I agree with banning the Niqab

    http://www.freewebs.com/spiritsajood/Niqab.JPG

    but not the Hijab

    http://www.apologeticsindex.org/graphics/veils1.jp...

The Niqab is not mandatory and has many faults to it, on the other hand the Hijab is required and has many benefits.

K im Muslim and I support banning burqa (its called niqab, never ever in my life have I heard the word burqa but white ppl are fixated on it for some wierd reason) since it is not obligatory in Islam at all

As long as they don't turn around and ban higab (which is obligatory in Islam), but u never know

but either way, guess westerners will never fully accept 'foreigners' so I guess they can STFU about human rights and democracy all that bs

I completely agree with the French!!!

I feel if its not the countries main religion, and it offends the citizens, bring it on! I'm sure if us non-muslims went to there country they wouldn't allow us to wear shorts and a singlet or even a two piece swimming cozy, We'd probably get put in Jail or receive a few floggings!!!

I would love it if that law came to Australia!
