What would you do?
I have a close friend who recommended another friend of hers to do some work for me on my flat. The work was finished to an acceptable level but I did not receive the correct guarantees and building reg certificates I should. I asked for them repeatedly but I was lied to and later found out he was not affiliated to the bodies he said he was. So now I have pay the lea for a retrospective building regs cert.
My friend knew I did not have the paperwork but believes her builder friend when he says I don't need them.
Now she is going to use the man for work on her property I have told her he cannot give her the correct paperwork but she still thinks il wrong and he's right. Apart from being hurt by her attitude. I don't Want to see her with my problem. She thinks it will be alright because he displays the trust mark logo on his letters although he is not a member. I have told her to be careful but she thinks I'm wrong and gets angry with me. should I try to tell her more I value her friendship. Or should I leave it

3 AnswersOther - Society & Culture7 years agoDoes any one know the name of this story?
It's a children's story book about a hedgehog, it's probably at least 20 years old. The hedgehog wakes in the middle of hibernation and leaves his hibernation home and his family. He soon finds himself in trouble and is eventually helped by rabbits, when he is taken into their burrow and eats the slugs that are eating their stored grass. That's all we can remember, we would like to buy the book for our young grandson who is presently sheltering an underweight hedgehog, with the help of his mum.
1 AnswerBooks & Authors8 years agoHow do you feel about the french government law to ban the burqa in public places?
What do you think of the following report from France about banning the burqa in public places such as schools and govt
institutions. Do you understand why the French feel like this or do you think they are being unreasonable?

4 AnswersEthnic Cuisine1 decade agoShould I tell him or wait til tomorrow?
I have just been told that my father in law has died. He has been ill for some considerable time and we all knew that illness was terminal; though the end has come suddenly we thought he had a few more months. . But my husband is in Paris on a business trip. He’s only there for 48 hours and he is flying back tomorrow afternoon, on arrival in the UK he has a 3 hour car drive home. He has an important presentation to give tomorrow morning and he already has a lot on his mind with other things going on in our lives right now.
So the question is should I phone him and tell him, or do I leave it and tell him tomorrow. To add insult to injury his mobile which he hates, has very little credit on it and because he will be charged for receiving a call I will only have a short time to talk to him before his credit runs out and I don’t know his hotel name. He has 3 other siblings who are looking after his mum and dealing with the situation. There is nothing he can do if I tell him and there is no one he can talk to he is alone in Paris. Also coming home early would be difficult if not impossible. My instinct is not to tell him now, but to wait until tomorrow. I am worried that if I tell him he will be alone and miserable and all his problems will come to the surface. He will have no one to talk to and I feel it is better to wait until i can tell him face to face, but am I wrong? Should I tell him? Advice please.

10 AnswersEgypt1 decade agomen do you consider a wrist watch in the same way as a bracelet?
I noticed in the previous question about necklaces etc, that most Egyptian men say they wouldn’t wear jewellery, I agree I think it looks awful on men, but does that extend to watches. I ask because I noticed many men don’t wear watches in Egypt.
7 AnswersEgypt1 decade agoDo you ever think how incredible this is? How will this affect us in the long run?
We talk, send letters in the form of e-mails, we chat on line, we can see each other in cams and hear each other on mics. we talk to others all over the world. we get the opinions of others in many countries in minutes. the idea of visiting the other countries was unimaginable, due to expense.
Yet 25 years ago we only just had home PC's, 25 years ago a letter to Australia took weeks, and cost alot, a phone call to egypt was almost impossible, even if you could afford it, discussions on politics, social issues and indeed anything between members of other countries on a regular basis would have been almost imposible. how should this change our lives? What should we learn from this? how has it changed your life or dont you think it has?
