Well some skin care products like Panda said would be ok, but let's be honest, she can buy that in China. It's hardly a present that you need to go half way across the world to buy. Besides, I'm sure she has a few select products that she uses anyway - you may buy her a skin product that isn't suitable for her tone or skin type (dry or oily, for example).

Other than that, I've not really got much idea. Your best bet is probably just to walk around a load of tourist shops (particularly if you live in London) and try and pick something out there that will last forever, rather than something she will throw away after she's used it.

I'm assuming you were fairly close friends. If you have some photos of you, her and some of her favourites places, maybe you could make a simple photo conpilation movie (even using something as basic as Movie Maker) with a nice song in the background.

Two things to consider:

1) in China, if I (or my children) get a gift, I must give you something of about same value or more in return.

2) a gift that makes the daughter happy does not always mean that will make the mother happy. Chinese mother(At least that is true for my mother) care about how "beneficial" something is to their child more than how much does that make their child happy.

I don;t know what the girl is like, so I can only tell you what many people in China like.

young people in China loves brands, lv wallet is a good gift can make the girl very happy, Apple product will be a more "beneficial" gift, if you don't mind the cost.

For cheaper gift, any famous brand is good gift....

It is still better to know the girl. to guess what she NEED (not want, but need)

Also, you don't need to give the husband gift, it is very weird to give a middle-aged man gift, especially you never met him before. Make his wife and child happy itself is the gift for him
