R&P: When did this section go through its "golden years"?

When this section was at its peak.

When there weren't as much "What Bands Are Similar To.." and similar questions.

Or has not gone through its golden years yet?

Or is it to early to tell?

I think Y!A in general was at its best about 8 months after the site was launched, spring 2006.

there werent trolling reporters, I actually had a couple "rivals" if you will, it rarely even occurred to us to report each other. The questions , ALL the questions always posted, and one would really have to go out of their way to get an account deleted. we got points for giving best answers a thumbs up, there was no option to give thumbs down on anyone in open questions.

there was about a year I took off, dont know what was happening during that time.

*but we did learn not to talk sh!t to "special guests", Im sure Deepak Chopra can take a joke, buy Y!A didnt. that account was gone immediately.

Ive been here for about two years and there's always been those questions, it's just that there used to be way more better questions too. I would say the golden years were about a few years ago. When I first got to R&P it was the best.

Back in 2007. Lots of different tastes and opinions, and it was a forum where thoughts were expressed freely and openly with very few repercussions. It was a lot of fun.

It was a blast when there was no R&P, and it was just the 'Music' section too.

Though I will say that there is a great group here now, as well. Just wish some of them were around a bit more.

Interesting Q -- I'm not really sure -- I've always seen those types of Posts.

    I think I started in early 2008(??)

Maybe the Golden Years have past --

But, we can always start The Platinum Years !!

    YES WE CAN !! ;)

yes, it was spring and summer of 2006....just the fact that there were no thumbs up or down buttons made it a lot more wide open. it seems to me people then were a lot more interested in an open and free exchange of ideas and opinions. i went from march 2006 to june 2007 with the same account, since then i've had 7 or 8 accounts "suspended".

rivals....hahahaha! yeah, no report happy people then....they would just challenge you to a cage wrestling match.....

Source(s): "most of these people are completely retarded."

    Agree w/ Darth & Sookie.

There was some serious fun back when we got all those dumb My Chemical Romance Qs.

Before trolls took it over & long before people felt obliged to include "MQ" in their question (that often *were* MQs themselves), as a result of trolling.

Plus, YA itself has been around long enough now for the novelty to wear off for the general population out there.

About a year and a half ago or so. This section was the *coolest*

There were many cool regs here, who I miss extremely, they kept it so interesting, and asked questions that actually made you think...

Don't let me hear you say life's taking you nowhere, Angel!

  • Summer 08 for me!
