will I experience effexor withdrawl after only four days?
I'm having WAY too many side effects that I am not willing to deal with. I've only been taking 37.5 mg for four days. If I just quit, will I experience withdrawl symptoms or no?
I am on the absolute smallest dose in the effexor xr.
I was not and am not suicidal. I was/am depressed......but honestly, I'd rather be depressed that constantly nauseated, major headache, heart palpitations, increased blood pressure, dizziness.

No. No withdrawal symptoms, but you might still experience symptoms in the coming few days (lessening gradually) as the medicine completely is rid of your body and the body readjusts. Should be a very short lived process and not very uncomfortable due to the short length you took the medicine.
Any symptoms you experience from here on out won't be near as strong as your side effects you 'were' experiencing,.. though at the same drugs have half-lives, and serum levels that go on for quite a while.. so you might not feel (however you felt last week, the second you decide NOT to take it..)
Source(s): Renee has a point about not stopping the drug without consulting with your physician first. Though there are no side effects after 4-5days of usage that are dangerous,.. aside from a return or increase in suicidal behavior (which is a side effect of taking the medicine) -- You needed the medicine for something, try and figure out how you can work with the doctor. Also, yes, you can cut the dosage down -- or add in Benzodiazepines on a short term basis to help ease the side effect profile. All things to discuss with your physician. - ?Lv 51 decade ago
do not stop taking the medication abruptly.. it could cause a seizure and lead to death
if you are experiencing side effects talk to your doctor.. maybe he could decrease the dosage to relieve some of the side effects
but please... DO NOT STOP taking without talking to your doc first
