Is global warming man made?

Global warming/climate change has just become a new religious cult based in greedy power grabbing and hopes of world domination through "climate legislation". In the past it was the religious zealots who burned the truth telling scientists at the stake today it is climate change political zealots trying to silence the truth tellers and sell the world some very expensive SNAKE OIL.

It seems global warming advocates are determined to turn logic and biology upside down. Anyone who remebers basic high school biology knows carbon dioxide is essential to plant life as oxygen is essential to human life. These two basic facts can't be separated. Only Obama-style liberals will attempt to convince us about how critical combating global warming is to the Earth's survival. As then Sen. Hillary Clinton said to Gen. David Petreaus, we must be "...willing to suspend all disbelief." I'm not willing to do so!

Global warming, or climate change, which ever they decide to call it this year, is not based on science at all. it's all based on the consensus of a few scientist who have something to gain by furthering this farce. Guess what that is? $$$$

Anyone who believes Carbon Dioxide is a pollutant should stop breathing. Since we exhale Carbon Dioxide in every breath, we are literally polluting the atmosphere. So stop breathing and reduce your carbon footprint, or say NO to cap and trade & the whole global warming hoax.

We can't project an accurate forecast a week in advance and yet we say that we're doomed in the future? I believe in eliminating waste and keeping things clean so that I, and my family, can safely enjoy the outdoors but I also know where the comforts of life come from and that is manufacturing that uses energy and supplies that are either grown or mined somehow. Follow the research grants and see what is being pushed.

I have a simple question I would like someone to answer for me, If the specific gravity (relative density) of air is 1.00 and the specific gravity (relative density) of CO2 is 1.5189, that means CO2 is heavier than air and settles on the Earth's surface where green plants need it. How then can CO2 be in the Earth's upper atmosphere and stratosphere trapping the Sun's rays and heating up the planet? Anybody? Anybody? Hello? That's what I thought.

The problem with the whole global warming issue is that no one really knows what they're talking about and most sources are completely bias. Global warming undoubtedly exists but it is blown way out of proportion by retards like Al Gore. Here are some basic facts to help you understand the situation:

The earth goes through continuous natural cycles of warming and cooling where each period of teperature change can be represented by a logistic function (y=logx). This means it plateaus at a certain point and later goes the opposite way. We have been going through a period of warming since the last ice age that has nothing to do with man. Greenhouse gases are contribution a small bit to this but nothing significant. This period will end within the next 10,000 years without having reached any rediculous levels.

Most people are overreacting because they get their info from unreliable sources. Online news and movies are full of bogus exagerations.

The most common mistake people make is to believe Al Gore. His presentations scared people bacause he doesn't know how to use graphs. He tried to represent warming with linear and exponential graphs that would eventually lead to infinite temps. Also, it was recently revealed that Gore obtained his data from 9 weather stations that all gave false data. 8 of them were located in northern Russia and have been inoperable for 30 years, while the other one in Alaska was placed on a blacktop surface so that it always read high. He kept up this sceme just for the money.

In short, the global warming that you and most of society knows is a bunch of BS, and the global warming that real scientists know is insignificant. So don't worry :)

A lot ot people have used this differentiation between "man-made" global warming and "non man-made" global warming as a convenient way of ignoring the problem. People will always find ways to avoid doing the work needed to solve a problem if they can just rationalize it away instead. The fact is that we know there are definitely some things we as human beings are doing that contribute to the problem of global warming, so what difference does it make WHAT PERCENTAGE is caused by us? If we know we can take certain steps to minimize the human contribution to the phenomenon, we have an obligation to do so, if we profess to actually care about this planet. Otherwise, we are just hypocrites.

First, the ozone layer is not a big issue anymore, CFC's are the only chemical that damages it, CO2 and all the other greenhouse gasses don't effect it, and since CFC's are now banned in aerosols and emissions of them are carefully controlled, the emissions of CFCs are now longer a big issue. Anyway there is a hell of a lot of evidence that mankind is a contributor to the rise in CO2 from the increased burning of hydrocarbons, there is also a link between CO2 emissions and global temperature, ( as one goes up the other does) Now this could be coincidence that the planet has only started warming significantly since the industrial revolution and these trends seen are nothing more than coincidence, but judging from the history of the earth I would say this is not likely.

Is global warming man made?

yes. for the last fifty years at least, the world has got warmer much faster than it could by any natural process we have seen to be happening. at the same time, we have burned coal oil and gas that took millions of years to form in just a few centuries.

it's not man made.in fact if you do some reading other planets in our solar SYSTEM are going threw the same thing. I think that we did some damage to the o zone but not enough to cause this. a few years ago it was the first day of spring and we had a huge snow storm in my state of MN. As a matter of fact the guy from dirty jobs was in my state making fun of global warming since it was a snow storm out side. If you listen now it's being called climate change because it's not getting hot but cold. People that once said that al gore info was correct are now being investigated for lying.

There are natural cycles of warming cooling on the earth. Some reasons are tilting on its axis, solar storms, volcanoes, changes in wind and ocean currents. The earth was very hot in the time of the dinosaurs and it has had huge portions covered in glaciers. Coal came from huge amounts of plant material. Back in the time of the Vikings they grew grapes in Greenland. Now it is a chunk of ice. There was an inland sea in Montana.

People who try to blame the small amount of warming we have, claim it is due to man burning fossil fuels and polluting the atmosphere. The statistics they use are falsified and changed to scare us. Thirty years ago the same people were telling us we were going into a mini ice age, so go figure.

Global warming exists and has been around for billions of years. The current fad (pushed by crackpot scientist too incompetent to cut it in the private sector) is to blame it on anthropogenic CO2 emissions. They regularly use historical cherry picking (80 years of spotty data), gross exaggeration, doomsday mythology, data fudging (negative slopes tweaked into positive slopes), data omission (if it doesn't fit their preconceived conclusion), historical denial, stock disaster footage, and fuzzy cute animals to support their claim. Not a single crackpot can explain what the temperature of the planet should be as a function of time and in now way can they show how anthropogenic CO2 emissions drive the global mean climate. AGW is a scam designed to tax you for the natural variability of this chart.....

Global Warmings been occuring since the ice age. Man made stuff MAY have just slightly sped it up at best.
