I am 29 weeks pregnant with our first baby and i have been getting bad cramps like i am getting period pain. Is this normal? Is there anything that i can do about it? I am not going to the doctor/midwife until a week and a halfs time.

Cramping through out pregnancy is normal. It's your uterus growing.

It sounds like you may be experiencing some Braxton Hicks contractions. Most times we get these because we aren't drinking enough fluids.

Try drinking one large bottle of ice cold water and lay on your left side for 1 hour.

It's normal. If you have cramping and bleeding then see your DR or head to the ER.

Cramping in pregnancy is normal, your uterus is a muscle that is expanding and your stomach muscles are being stretched. If the pain gets unbearable give the antenatal day unit a call at your local hospital, they may bring you in to be checked.

In the mean time, try drinking cold water and walking around, this sometimes helps. If you need pain relief, paracetamol is your only option, start off taking a half dose and if it isn't better in 45 mins take the other half (that's what I do, as I'm not big on pills in pregnancy, but sometimes you just need to)

ectopic being pregnant could be very painful. I doubt that you're experiencing that. When you cross on monday, they're going to be equipped to peer if the fertilized egg is implanted within the uterus of the fallopian tubes. Don't pressure your self an excessive amount of. Monday is most effective few days away.

give your midwife a call and explain whats happening - they are used to this and will definitely be able to tell you if its worth going in early or not. they can be really helpful. good luck !
