How could you turn an old guitar into a lamp?
I have an old guitar, that my husband bought to learn how to play. I would like to make it into a lamp somehow, to decorate the office/music room.

It is often possible to take the neck off a guitar - there is usually a bolt that does it, but you might have to take the strings off and search around for the bolt in question.
The neck is then usable as a stand which you can mount the lamp on - you might need to saw off the area where the strings meeting the tuning devices.
And the body of the guitar can then be used as your base.
It sounds funky. Email me a picture if you end up doing it.

I recently had some lamps wired up and I took the items to a Lighting Store,locally...I'd quote a price but I'm sure all area costs are different in locations around the Nation..(USA)...I called around the City to find who was willing to do this for me and found two,so I compared costs and went with the lower cost option...they explained in detail of the proceedures....Very great results and happy with the job they did;plus I got a years guarantee with it.
I had a wood carved Bear statue & Deer antlers made into lamps...>=)

for an accent lamp you could but the light inside from the back and hang it , for a stand up lamp get a guitar stand get a light kit at a home improvement store, a bracket to screw to the neck by the screws are by a shade and you are done

what you can do is ,the neck has a rod you have to split it from the side .take it out ,now you can use it for to hide the wire fromm the black light.the on and off you can take out the old switch from guitar and place the on and off from the light the black light a fluorescent black light can be on the neck where the strings where.outline the guitar with fluorescent colors that it will pop with glow.strap the light from bottom and top of neck.also the power cord out from the input jack.hang the guitar on a guitar stand secure it and hang it,oh yea you can use two or three light if you want on the neck, it up to you.
