    It sure can!

The first thing you need if you want to learn to lucid dream is good dream recall. What good would the most amazing lucid dream be if you don't remember it? A Dream Journal is a wonderful way to improve your dream recall.

When you have a good collection of dreams recorded, go through and look for situations, people and objects that show up a lot in your dreams. Start looking for these Dream Signs while you are awake. Any time you encounter one, do a Reality Check (RC) - a quick test to see if you are dreaming or not. (My favorite RC is to pinch my nose shut and see if I can still breathe. If I can, I'm dreaming!)

Eventually you will do an RC and discover you are dreaming. At that point, you will be lucid - and will have begun a most amazing experiences - one you'll likely want to repeat again and again.

There are many other techniques. The one just described is known as DILD - Dream Initiated Lucid Dream. For more on the DILD technique and to learn about other ways to initiate lucid dreams, follow the links provided below.

    Good luck!

Maybe - I've noticed that at least keeping a dream log, writing right when I wake up from a dream, over time has led to improved dream recall, which will make for an interesting journal.

I've also heard that thinking about having a lucid dream before you go to sleep might help. I've tried it and it hasn't worked out so well so far.

Keeping a journal by the side of bed (while going to sleep) may help. It will enhance the powers to get lucid dreams. If it is not working, then consult a good doctor.

Keep yourself awake for a few days at a time or only sleep 2-3 hours a night--you'll have sleep paralysis. Very creepy and kind of scary.

It is when you sleep and begin to wake up. Your body is still in REM-from lack of it. You panic because you can't move or voluntarily control your muscles or breathing(even though you are actually involutarily breathing) You think you are choking. This goes on for I think 10-20 seconds but seems much longer because you are still semi sleeping. I remember waking up gasping for breath.

Another very common thing(due to chemicals in the brain) ,and I have had this once, is seeing demons during this brief period too. Friggin weird

even though if there is anything that you can recall from a dream.. most of the time you recall things mid dream. actively thinking about and writing about it will keep it in the back of your mind and will increace your chances of having the dream again or at least contiuning it
