Does anyone truly believe in praying the rosary?

I am posting the rosary for you to see it, but am also stating it is never mentioned in the bible, so it is a false teaching the Church should avoid. You cannot pray to Mary, but only to the Father in the name of Jesus ( see John 16:23-24 ). Search the scriptures, and you will see praying the rosary is never mentioned ( Acts 17:11 ).

The fifteen promises of Mary to Christians who recite the rosary:

1. Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary shall receive signal graces.

2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary.

3. The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against Hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.

4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.

5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish.

6. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries, shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just, he shall remain in the grace of God and become worthy of eternal life.

7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the Church.

8. Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plenitude of His graces; at the moment of death, they shall participate in the merits of the saints in Paradise.

9. I shall deliver from Purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.

10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven.

11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary.

12. All those who propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.

13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire Celestial Court during their life and at the hour of death.

14. All who recite the Rosary are my sons, and brothers of my only Son, Jesus Christ.

15. Devotion to my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.

Even when I was a Catholic I did not pray the rosary. Mary is sleeping in her grave. She did not say any of these things about the rosary which are contrary to God's Word. The "Mary" here sounds like someone who wants us to hold her in the same esteem as the Father and the Son while the Mary in the Bible called herself, a lowly maid and acknowledged God as her Savior. These promises of the rosary are all the false teachings of the Catholic Church.

Why would people pray to something that was man-made, instead of praying directly to God in Heaven? We are to faithfully serve God, not Mary. God protects us. The armor of God is what we need to protect us from the enemy. Hell is the grave not a place where the devil lives. The Bible clearly says that those who believe in Jesus will not perish. Why should we recommend ourselves to Mary? The Rosary did not die on the cross for us so believing in it would not save anyone or obtain mercy from God. Again, the person who believes in Jesus will not perish but have everlasting life--the rosary cannot save anyone. Salvation is of the Lord. Reciting the rosary does not make anyone worthy of eternal life--accepting Christ as your Lord and Savior, living in obedience to God, doing His will, living a life that is pleasing to Him are the things that will make a person worthy of eternal life.

#s 7, 8 do not make any sense. Purgatory does not exist. The Bible clearly states that God's people are those who keep the commandments and have the faith of Jesus. The faithful children of God will enjoy a thousand years in Heaven with Him and Jesus. They will rule with Jesus and judge the rest of the dead (Revelation 14:12; 20:4-6).

God, not Mary is the One who provides our needs. He is the One who will grant us the desires of our hearts, according to His will. We don't have to recite anything in order for that to happen. Jesus encouraged us to ask the Father in His name (John 16:23). This "Mary" is trying to take the place of God.

#s 12 and 13 are ridiculous. In Mark 3:35. Jesus made it very clear whom He considered to be His family: "For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother."

Predestination has nothing at all to do with Mary. The Bible tells us whom it has everything to do with: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, 12 that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory (Ephesians 1:6; 11, 12).

The Rosary is not of God or of Mary. I urge those who use the rosary, to stop trusting in it and trust in your heavenly Father and His Son instead.

Yes, I do know. It is the prayerful meditation on the life and times of our Lord. It takes s in prayer thru the gospels. It teaches us about the life, ministry, passion and death, and the Resurrection and ascension of our Lord. It is the prayer with the most indulgences added to it by Christs Holy Church. It is the one that causes demons to flee in terror, knowing that the Woman will come to crush the head of Satan soon. I pray the rosary every night before bed. Pax Christi

Absolutely not. It is a load of crap. Almost my entire family is catholic (except for my mom, dad, brother and myself). My aunts, uncles, cousins, etc... are all catholic and I have to deal with them praying to Mary and using the rosary and them trying to convert me. I never understood how they justified it if the bible never mentions it. It is nothing but rituals put down by the catholic church to control the masses. God shouldn't be about rituals, it should be about a personal relationship and nobody is going to tell me how I should pray. The fact that somebody memorizes something to repeat each day means the rosary means less and less every time you say it because they aren't your own words.I own a rosary but only because it was hand made by my grandmother.

A saint is a holy one who is in heaven.

We revere Mary because the Father did by making her the mother of His Son—and also because she is holy and therefore is a saint. She was her Son’s most faithful follower.

Her relationship with the Trinity is unique beyond all other creatures. She is a child of the Father, the mother of the Son and the spouse of the Holy Spirit.

She IS special, alright. God has honored her more than any mere human can.

Worship is something that we can only direct to God.

To worship God is to acknowledge Him to be who He is.

We cannot worship Mary or anyone else because only God is God.

You are certainly right about this. The rosary is not in the Bible and we shouldn't be praying to Mary and all those reasons to pray the rosary are false also.

No, I do not believe in praying the rosary because it is simply not of the Lord. When someone prays the rosary, they pray to Mary which, according to God's word, if any man prays to anyone/anything other than the Lord God Himself, then you are praying to a false god. I was raised Catholic, and I thanked and praised the Lord Jesus Christ that He saved me and showed me the Truth, which is Jesus and His word (it will be 11yrs. this March that I accepted Jesus into my life). So, the ONLY One I pray to is my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen!!!!

I didnt read all what u wrote. But i believe in building a relationship with god, jesus and the holy trinity.

"Holy Mary mother of God" How exactly is she the mother of God? And why exactly are we worshiping her? I know she was important, but so was moses, he put forth the commandments which everyone of us follow. But we dont say 'hail moses' That sounds like cult, 'hail, hail, hail to the master' but anyway, its just repitition, not actually building relationship with God.

Your correct by saying it's not in the Holy Bible. I think it was added as a scared tradition by the RC Church.

There is sort of a line between the various denominations, those with liturgies, and those without. A liturgy is a set of prayers, movements, songs, readings, space, clothing etc., in a structured form, that is generally repeated (once per day/week/whatever).

One of the great advantages to a liturgy is that it puts you in that liturgical "space" where you can connect with God. It has little procedures and clues that guide you to an experience. This is much like how a movie theatre dims the lights gradually, then puts on trailers (and these days, about a zillion ads), then the lights go lower, music begins, and you settle in to watch the movie. You are guided to it by all that comes before. A liturgy can do exactly the same.

However, there is also a great disadvantage. What if you just go through the motions, and do not have the experience? Or, worse, if you go through the motions, believing that it is your actions that are effective? Non-liturgical churches have fresh celebrations every time, doing different things, allowing great involvement of the people taking part.

The Rosary: it belongs in the liturgical camp. It is very popular amongst Roman Catholics, but is also used by some Anglicans, and I believe the Orthodox churches as well. It has the value that it has you pray regularly. Moslems have told me that their regular 5 times a day prayer means that God is never far from their thoughts. Saying the Rosary on a regular basis ideally also keeps God in your thoughts on a regular basis, and allows that liturgical time and space for an encounter with Him. OTOH, if it is done simply to do it, or worse, people think that by saying it, magical things will happen (much like the 15 promises above) - that is hollow at best, and ineffective.

So, saying the Rosary is not a bad thing; in fact, it can be a very good thing, and part of a devout life. However, it can also be an excuse not to have to actually work at a relationship with God. Saying it without experiencing it, or feeling it, is meaningless. Some have a superstitious belief that just by saying it, they will be protected from evil, or whatever. No. It is s tool, a way of bringing focus, but it cannot do anything on it's own.

Granted, rosaries are not mentioned in Scripture. But, as has been pointed out, neither have a lot of things. And, anything that can bring us to God is probably a good thing.
