HDMI and DVI carry the same signal, which is why you can freely adapt one to the other, HDMI to DVI, or DVI to HDMI. The main difference is, HDMI can also carry audio.

Hi. The best image quality you can achieve is whatever your native resolution is on your monitor. HD for instance has a vertical resolution of 1080 pixels. So 1080p (progressive) is the best you can ever get. Both DVI and HDMI can achieve that, but the HDMI can also transmit audio. Your question was "video" so the answer is no.

in case you connect your DVR to the lcd utilising a HDMI Cable it is going to hold audio alerts besides. So in the experience that your video show has audio gadget alongside the climate then HDMI is the cable to choose for. you will no longer desire one greater cable to transmit audio alerts. in the experience that your video show does not have audio gadget, then connect utilising a DVI Cable (greater suitable image high quality), and then connect your audio gadget on your DVR. 1680 X 1050 is a superb determination even nevertheless, the assessment ratio seems quite low. the standard assessment ratio considered stable for television viewing is 50000:a million or larger. you are able to sense the version while viewing too bright pictures or too dark pictures (movie scenes) on the video show.
