Do you think people get tired of answering you?

I know, If they answer you they get more points, but do you feel like the people that usually answer your questions get tired of answering you?, especially if you ask alot of Qs.

Its not that they dont know the answer, they're on Y!A, they just dont want to answer you anymore.

I noticed this with some of my contacts that used to answer my Qs all the time, they're on, but I feel like they got tired of answering my Q's so they just ignore them.

How about you?

Update:

...Im not saying that points are the point...and I dont believe they're the point of this website, Im just saying that points are a huge priority for some people using Y!A

Update 2:

But really, I thought that a question that provokes thought in the answerers is the most interesting question to ask, but maybe it really isnt, maybe more peole really do like to answer questions that are more simple and funny more.

Update 3:

@All of my contacts who answer and all who have answered: I didnt really make this question to try and complain or anything, I sort of asked this to see if wether asking too many questions would affect wether people answer the person less and basically asking you what I'd need to do differently in order for you and other people to continue answering my questions without growing tired of them like I had a feeling people were doing before I asked this, I do see some reasons why people might get tired of answering or why you or other people might not answer all of my questions, thanks you're all great! :)

And anyone else that wants to answer this its gladly appreciated!

Update 4:

@Smiles: I wans't referring to you, and I dont try to force people to answer my questions either!, its thier choice if they want to answer them I dont think they have an obligation to!, I was just saying it would be nice if more people did answer them, but its thier choice, its the internet it'd be impossible to force someone to do something like answer a question on Yahoo Answers if they didnt want to, I dont make people do anything unless they have the will to do so.

Update 5:

@Stephen K: You should definitely continue to participate, unecessary bad ratings from people out of jealousy shouldnt stop you.

Your answers are remarkable really, the reason I dont pick you as Best Answer sometimes is because I figure that youve acquired enough best answers already, you have tons of best answers, I sort of figured that you really didnt need a best answer from me all that much seeing as how you have a substantial amount already, although thats probably not good reasoning since every point does matter, its not that I think your answers arent of good quality becuase they're excellent, I just sort of chose other people sometimes to give people more points who dont have the immense status that you carry with you on Y!A, I mean, you're the top answerer of the C&A section, thats amazing! Thanks for being a fan of me btw.

I dint really think you cared wether I gave you Best Answer or not, but I guess I was wrong there.

But please continue to answer my Qs, I appreciate it.

Update 6:

@Smiles: No, I didnt mean it like that, I choose people *becuase* they give Best Answer, I was just saying that people that have less points most likely need the points more than someone with a huge amount of points, like someone who has 2,000 points compared to someone with 50,000 points, the person with 2,000 points may need the points more, I was just saying, tha t DOES NOT mean that I choose people because they have less points, I pick them because they given the Best Answer in my eyes, thats the main reason I give BA in the first place.

Update 7:

@Goldfish: Thanks, Its easier to adress ones feelings rather than keeping them to themselves and/or bottled up inside them.

Its easier to let your mind speak what it truly feels rather than making your mind pledge a vow of silence.

Its not really all that hard to adress how you feel if you really try.

    Two points for me.

I think that I have become such a lightening rod that people just don;t want to see my answers, and I get a lot of unwarrented downs. But I enjoy this category a lot and will continue to participate.

As to the second part, one reason I have backed off from answering your questions is that (and I know this is going to sound selfish, but it is my take on things) I feel that you will never award me a best answer.

I am not saying that every answer I give is truly the best answer always, but I find it odd that it seems that NONE of my answers are ever worthy.

You have given me this opportunity and I will avail myself of it, but another question of yours, the anime investment question, I passed on, for no matter how good of an answer I give, someone else gets the prize.

Now, I cannot argue with you over selection; that is wholly your choice and you can do as you see fit, but it just seems odd to me that i always come up short in your eyes.

    See you around

Nah, I don't get tired of answering the questions. Sometimes I just don't have the time, don't have any idea how to write out what I'm thinking, or am too lazy to answer the question. Other times, the question has already received a great answer, and I don't see what I can add to it or other times, the question is closed before I can answer it. It doesn't have anything to do with the people. It never does. Not so far it hasn't, at least.

You do ask a lot of questions, but just because you do, it doesn't mean I'm tired of them. I have been really busy lately, so I can't answer every question my contacts ask. I think that even if I wasn't so busy, I would still be answering the same amount of questions since I spend less time on my laptop than I used to. Anyway, I admire your ability to address what you're feeling. I don't think I'd be able to do that.

I would like to summon up to you philosophical nature N.Pride: Is it possible that the group of people, for a long period of time, simultaneously experiences the same interests? Your answer will definitely be “No”. So why preoccupy your mind with worries such as where some PDgrJols (hope it doesn’t mean anything vulgar in digispeak) has gone and why he is not unswerving my questions anymore? Perhaps, he fell in love and now is answering some other, more suitable to his nowadays soul condition, questions. Everything flows, everything changes…….

I’m on the site since 72 hours (recovering from a “drama” as you see from my nickname) and I do care about points, points is what gives this whole casuistry thing a spice, but I always brows through the questions free mindedly, picking the once that “ring the bell” in my soul or mind, and sometimes not even mentioning who is asking them. The most important thing for me is to let out, what “since so long has accumulated within me” ;)

Take it easy man, let’s keep it rolling ;)

I used to answer your questions all the time, and still sometimes do. Just not nearly as much, which is kind of the case with Y!A in general. I only check the questions asked by my contacts every few days, and even then I'll only answer one or two. So please don't feel like you're the only one whose questions I don't answer.

And to be completely honest, I sometimes get overwhelmed by the amount of questions you ask. For a bunch of those questions I don't have a particularly great answer to start with, and when I read an answer given by one of my contacts it generally blows my hypothetical answer out of the water. So when that happens I just don't bother :/

Also, just going to be honest here, I was avoiding you for a little while. That was only when I thought you were trying to get stars by repeating my questions, but now I trust when you said that it was an accident.

  • How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.
  • I have many contacts (IMO) but not the kind that follow me and answer my questions (with one or two exceptions). I also have a tendency to ask questions that doesn't interest people in general or that people in general simply don't know anything about. Many of my questions have gone unanswered and has been deleted because of that. Because of that I'm always happy and surprised when someone does answer and I never take answers for granted.

Looking to myself I can say that I do get tired of some types of questions now and then and start to look for other types instead. I see people who ask questions in the same "style" most of the time and sometimes I do look for them while other times I scroll on by when I see them.

No however I'm worn out of seeing questions individuals would uncover solutions to themselves if they'd part a mind. Amazing how some of these individuals ain't obtained the brains to make use of their PC for essentially the most major software it has. A friggin seek field. Seems as despite the fact that as technological know-how advances, the common public turns into extra ignorant. If I'd have had this software forty five years in the past, I'd were a rocket scientist. These youngsters have the sector at their fingertips and ain't obtained brains ample to know the way to make use of it.

Well, let's neither of us lie. I know I don't answer all of your questions, but really it's because you ask so many and because I only have so much time and other questions I want to answer, as well! So what I do is pick my favorites, or the ones I think I have a great answer for, out of the new bunch that you've asked. And I do this with others, too, if they've recently been asking a ton of questions.

I'd imagine some people get tired, but let me assure you that's not the case with me!

Nah. I add contacts just so I can answer their questions-- and to stay connected with them. What's the point of adding them if they don't ask anything? I wonder about this sometimes because you, Josh, Billet and others have added me when I ask questions once in a blue moon.

I answer the questions I like. You ask a tonne of questions about that anime stuff, but I don't answer. Reason? I'm not an anime fan.

I'm not a philosophy fan either but your questions are quite interesting and I attempt to answer them.

And I don't answer for the sake of points. And if I do, its only some random questions in P&S.

I don't ask questions just for my contacts to answer, I'm just as interested in reading other people's answers. And I don't force anyone to answer my questions, and neither am I under any obligation to answer them.

PS: You aren't referring to me, are you? Because I answer your philosophical questions--when I can. When I don't have an eligible answer I just star.

Edit: @ Stephen K: What you're basically saying is that you answer questions with the aim of getting BA. That's silly. I hardly ever get BA but that never stops me from answering almost all my contacts' questions. Plus, N Pride's questions are really interesting..and sometimes I answer some junky stuff but that doesn't bug me because I answered the question to the best of my ability--that's what matters to me.

EDIT2: @ NerdPride: "...the reason I dont pick you as Best Answer sometimes is because I figure that youve acquired enough best answers already, you have tons of best answers, I sort of figured that you really didnt need a best answer from me all that much seeing as how you have a substantial amount already, ... I just sort of chose other people sometimes to give people more points who dont have the immense status..."

Understandable enough. But do NOT tell me that you have (previously) chosen me for BA just because I didn't have a *status* or had less points. :?

Tell me honestly, *have* you ever done that [to me] for that reason? I never give people BA (for what little questions I ask) just because they have less points or a small 'status'.

I'm sorry that I don't answer your questions that much anymore. I do sometimes but that is only if I have time but I usually have to write a lot of term papers nowadays. Your questions are quite interesting to answer and also quite a lot to think about. I mean I could think and answer your question, is just that I will be usually be stressing over my papers and essays. I feel that I can't really get you a good answer if I'm like that. If only I was still in high school I will still have time.

I clicked on this and realised that I haven't answered any of your questions in a few days. Oops. I never intend to ignore any of my contacts questions. It is just that sometimes I may not have a good enough answer for the question, or possibly another user has already given a very similar answer to what I would have given.

Still have questions? Get your answers by asking now.
