What if the trial of 9/11 were held at Guantanamo Bay?
with a world joint judicial panel. This way the US wouldn't have to bear all the weight.
Interesting point Debra. You are absolutely correct.

That wouldn't work.
The crimes occurred on US soil, and according to the treaties the US signed with the UN, that means the trials are to be held in the US.
Furthermore, under our own legal system, the criminals have the right to be tried in the US. They also have the rights to a speedy trial, access to a lawyer, and other things that we blatantly disregarded down in Guantanamo. Hopefully we can start acting again like the country we're supposed to be, instead of a bunch of cowardly whiners willing to throw our morals away whenever it suits us.
Now, if terrorists from 9/11 hijacked a plane leaving from the US, and crashed it into a building in another country, then there might be a reason for a multi-national trial - but again only with the countries that were directly affected.

If we have it the Military Court in Guantanamo Bay then the terrorists wouldn't be able to have a fair trial or the right to hire an attorney. Plus, the trial is be done alot quicker than a civil trial here in the USA. Why should we give them any rights, they're trying to destroy our country. Plus, it wan't cost us millions of dollars unlike a civil court here in the USA

It will never happen. 9/11 occurred in the U.S. so the rest of the world isn't obligated to get involved. I get the point of your question but the U.S. should bear all the weight. We'll look weak if we can't even deal with one terrorist.

What these people need is military tribunals. They are not criminals. They are enemy combatants caught on the battlefield. In addition one of them is the mastermind of the 9/11 tragedy. Don't move them. Do not give them the rights of American citizens whom they have sworn to kill. Do not give them a venue to spout their hatred.
