how come when I ask the question: Is this a dream?

Most people, if not all, would answer, by pinching me or hitting me. They then say, you can feel pain can't you?

Or they would answer many things related to pain or suffering -->> I woke up this morning and tripped. It hurt like hell, so I am sure it is not a dream.

Is the measure of reality pain and suffering?

Update:

Have I died in a dream and not wake up?

I have never experienced death in my dreams ---->> how sure am I that when I die right now, I won't wake up.?

I've been in some dreams that I have felt pain.

Reality could be a house, a dog. It does not have to be pain and suffering.

A measure of reality is physical awareness; a kiss would have served the same purpose, and more.
