What can you tell me about the on-line game Gaia?
I have a 12 and a 13 year old that play this, yet I know nothing about the site. Is it safe? What can I expect them to be doing on it? Until I know, they are not to play it. They know to not give out their real name, age, etc. but I want to be sure it's ok to use.
I thank those that gave me an intelligent answer. I commute 140m miles a day and don't have time to check up on things of this nature. That's why I choose to ask questions of this nature here, so I can get real answers. To waste your time and mine with menial responses only confirms my need to check on these types of sites. Thanks for nothing "Johnny". BTW - nice name!

It would be fine for them to play, as long as you made it clear that they are not allowed to talk to strangers unless they don't give out their real names or any personal information. Not everyone on the site is a child. I joined the site when I was 18, but most of the users are under the age of 18. Gaia has everything from games, forums, avatars to dress up, little houses they can decorate for the avatars, etc. It's like Neopets for teenagers.

I believe its ok to use. Gaia is made for that age group. Set in a very kid friendly kind of world which wont present any major violence or anything of that nature. Only problem is they are allowed to talk to other players which can be fine as long as they are not giving out their names or addresses with other people. Think of it like a facebook just as a big game. Hope that helps

I think Johnny is a homosexual
If the game makes people homosexual, and he's suggesting that you play the game, then perhaps Johnny is trying to recruit you...

There is no physical danger in it, but letting them get involved in something like Gaia is sure to make them turn into homosexuals. Why are you asking this here again? Wouldn't it make more sense to play the game yourself so you can see firsthand?
