The male counterpart for a gynecologist is called an andrologist. They are much rarer because the male system is far less complicated than female’s. But these doctors deal mainly with the reproductive systems. If your boyfriend hasn't seen a doctor in 2 years and he just needs a physical, I would recommend him seeing a general practitioner. These are the best people to check general health, screen for disease states, and provide treatment for most problems. Getting a physical does not require a male specialist, a general practitioner could do the job, and probably for less money.

A guy should go to just a regular general practice doctor and if there is anything specificly wrong he can be referred to an other specialist if there is anything wrong with his man tool he should go to a urologist they would take care of it.
