Puppy isnt adjusting to raw meat diet?
I have 3 Australian Shepherds, who are 2 years old, 5 months old, and the youngest is about 3.5 months old. I switched them to RAW food about 5 weeks ago (I believe?) and The older two have transitioned well.
However, the youngest puppy seems to have constant diarrhea. She'll go even in her kennel and i feel so bad because if she does it at night, i don't find out until the next morning. She NORMALLY can go the entire night in her kennel without any messes- the diarrhea isnt an all-the-time thing.
Is she just too young to be on it? I know puppies can be weaned onto raw meat, but what gives? I'm almost positive that her ratio is fine. After all, the other dogs get the same thing, just a larger amount of each item.
Should I switch her back to kibble? Should I add something to her diet to firm up her poop?
Thanks in advance. Please star for raw-feeding contacts.

You should add more bone its what they advice me to do, but they also told me to add a little canned pumpkin to their daily food ration. (Canned pumpkin not only helps firm up stool's on dogs it also helps when they are constipated, a strange thing - it helps in both ways). My pup was I believe 4 months old when we switched him and well he had firm poop for 2 or 3 days and then diarrhea for several several days, well I though he had to adjust but they also told me to add bone and Canned pumpkin and well it took him less than a week, or maybe a week I don't remember but it helped I think you should just add more bone and Canned pumpkin.
Hoped I helped fellow raw feeder.

Sounds like the you need to add more bone.. That being said, a puppy should eat approximately 2-3% of it's estimated ADULT weight per day... You want to start your dog on just one protein source at a time and gradually add in others over a course of a month's time.. give each protein source a week or two before adding in another one .. I would start off with Chicken Backs, thighs and legs then move on to Pork, Fish or Venison.. Save the Beef and Organs for last... By the end of a couple months you should have your pup's diet should consist of eating 80% muscle meat, 10% Bone and 10% Organ {note the heart is considered muscle meat} and only give Large weight baring bones {Femurs} for recreational chewing... Veggies are not a major necessity and Grains are hard for dogs to digest.. However, if you would like to add some vegetables such as mashed Green Beans, carrots, broccoli into the mix I would suggest waiting until after you have fully transitioned him/her to the meat products.. Even then I would only add a small amount, about 2% of the daily diet, about once or twice a week... **Here are some links that were suggested by another poster on a different thread... In the mean time try adding a little canned pumpkin to the diet if adding bone does not do the trick.. I would also suggest taking a stool sample to the vet to rule out parasites....

The title of your question is concerning. Can you please specify what you are feeding as this diet consists of more than just meat. It contains meat, bone and organs. It will not be nutritionally sound if you are missing any of those components.
Make sure you aren't feeding enhanced meats. Poultry is especially notorious for this. Often times the cheap poultry will have solutions added. These contain high amounts of salt which can cause explosive diarrhea and other side effects.
Your diet needs troubleshooting, not changing back to kibble.

I'd stick to one protein source for a week or so and keep the bone a bit higher than the standard 'prey model' 10%.
When I have pups I feed a mix of roo mince and organ in the morning, a chicken thigh, meaty wing or drumstick at lunch time and meat offcuts or heart at night.

Don't switch her to kibble. I had the same problem with Sasha when I decreased the bone amount too soon. I immediately switched her to chicken quarters. She stopped with the diarrheaa after a few days.
Just try more bone.
Good luck!
Add: Also, as stated above, enhanced meats often are not handled well in sensitive dogs. So check the sodium level on the package. If it's above 100 mg, it's enhanced. Most chicken from Walmart are enhanced.

*I* would be using more lacto/acidoph (yogurt cultures, only in capsule form) I would also double check my meat source. If your meat has any additives, that could be your problem. (This is very common with chicken and turkey) One of my dogs is far more sensitive to this than the other.
Finally, I would try feeding more basic meals. All chicken legs/wings for a couple days sometimes helps. (the bone helps "dry things up" a little)

Dont put a puppy on meat. give the pup a good quality puppy food and protein sausage in small amounts made for dogs. Would you give a human baby a raw steak to eat?

Chicken necks with the fat trimmed = will firm up stools and get the gut accustomed to digesting raw meat. Raw meat is easy to digest, but it's a harsh thing to digest...it's hard to explain but...just keep to chick necks with the skin/fat trimmed, she'll come around. (Chicken necks are never enhanced)

more bone. My dog will get that way if I fail to feed enough bone. So increase the amount.
YOu don't want to add some much her poops are crumbly but she def. needs more than what she's gettng.
How long has she been on it?
