Would Rosberg be Schumi's toughest team mate?

This is not about how Schumi enjoyed his dominant driver status when he was in Benetton and Ferrari. In terms of skills how would Nico Rosberg compare with his other team mates like Barrichello, Irvine, Massa?

Can't tell from the past few years. He's been stuck in a middle of the pack car and he has performed middle of the pack with it. Not likely that he's going to be a championship contender this year, but who knows, Rubens was a good teammate even if he did whine a bit, he knew Michael was faster over the race distance and he was blistering in qualifying. Eddie was good, almost won the championship the year Mike got hurt at Silverwood, but he also new that Schuey was better. I don't think Michael would have broken Senna's pole record if Ayrton could have had a few more seasons to score poles, but he shattered all previous win records and he is going to add to his own talley. He will be over 100 wins before this contract is up - even if he doesn't win another title. I expect Nico will be the one teammate who has the best chance of winning a title with Michael on the track. Not because he's better that Brundle or Ervine or Barrichello or Massa but because I expect Michael is going to be a better teammate than he has been in the past.

I have to admit that I am still not sold on Rosberg's driving ability yet. He does have a good turn of speed when he is on and the car is working. However these good performances are too few and far between. I rate Massa as the best team mate that Micheal has had. On some days Massa was well and truly faster than Schumacher. His performances in Turkey and Brazil when they were together were dominating performances.

After Massa I would put Barrichello. I think he was very underrated when he was younger and at his peak. Unfortunately for him he hit this point in his career just as Micheal hit his peak as well and was always forced to play driver number 2. Martin Brundle was very talented however he was never able to deliver consistently enough at F1 level. He bested Schumacher every now and then but not often enough, and he never really dominated him over a race weekend. I would put Rosberg at about the same level as Brundle. I think he is better than all the other team mates Schumacher has had.

Hmm... that remains to be seen. Rosberg has had some solid races but his presence is not that much compared to say, Kimi. Rosberg will have to be mentally prepared to challenge Schumi and not back down from the pressure. If he can do that and beat Schumi regularly, then yes, he'll be Schumi's toughest team mate. He has to do all he can so tht he won't be stepped on

Actually Martin Brundle was Schumacher's closest team mate in 1992 at Benneton. Although never outqualifying Schumacher he outperformed him in many races that season. Brundle was very talented but had a lot of bad luck and never really recovered fully from smashing his ankles up in a Tyrell.

There is much hype about Rosberg and he has put in some solid performances but he is yet to set the world alight. I think having Schumacher as a team mate he will be slightly concerned knowing what he is up against and paranoid over any unfair advantages. But like Brundle, Rosberg should be on equal footing with Schumacher in the team. This once psychological advantage for Schumacher has gone.

I think he will keep Schumacher on his toes, but even in his 40s Schumacher will be blistering. I expect a race win or 2 but no championship challenge. He will finish ahead of Rosberg on points.

Well Rosberg is very good but no.

Brundle was very good in sportscars but in F1 i think he lost out 16-0 in qualy to MS in 1992.

As for the age thing F1 drivers were much older 20 years ago and Mansell did alright when he was 41 so it's like riding a bike.

    Rosberg is better than Irvine

Rosberg is just as good as Massa (for now)

But Rosberg is not as good as Barrichello!

rosberg was a great driver and talented as well..but i don think he can match schumi, so much about schumi that rosberg lack..however, sure he can be above schumi in some races

for sure, Ponting should be sacked from captaincy. And its the job of Australian cricket board to react and not in any respect relax like a bunny. Its no longer Australian crew in spite of the indisputable fact that the crew of Ponting who had a set of wild events persons who doesn't have the variety of spirit any recreation needed. in simple terms seem on the 11 situations (undesirable selection) that are in information; if for sometime we forgot about both 'deaf and blind' and non-experience umpires, right here comes the gamers of both communities who a minimum of could take the percentage to act with a real events persons. Right... Yeah... Schumi is Way past his sell by date... and I think he will struggle to keep up with rosberg in the long term of going everywhere... his neck will be gone by the half season and Heidfield is will step to the rescue...

An F1 question in the F1 section?

This is too much for me...

    Faint

ok I've recovered, I think it will be good for Nico, he doesn't seem too arrogant and will probably be willing to learn from Schumi.

I would expect Michael to come out on top this year, in fact if he didn't come out on top I don't think he would stick to his 3 year contract!
