Do Jehovah's Witnesses personally hear from the Lord?
I'm a fire-filled Christian who hears from the Lord all the time. He's very active in my life and He recently laid it on my heart to learn more about Jehovah's Witnesses. Not trying to upset anybody, but the more I learn about this religion, the more I realize how deceived they really are. I'm sure that I will be asking more about this, but my question right now is, do Jehovah's Witnesses hear from the Lord themselves or do they live their lives according to how the Bible has been interpreted to them by someone else who claims to have heard from God? Thanks in advance. Shalom!

I never expected that he would communicate any other way than through the written word, for me i can and do get answers in a different manner, also, but Jehovah's witness that I am , I do believe that the best way is through the written word. the reason I get it in a different way is no one's concern but my own. that fact is he will not speak to you out loud and for a very good reason. the demons .pretend to be angels of light and speak out loud to people. this makes people think they are crazy.. yada yada. The bible says that we will all have the same thoughts if we are true christians , we are in unity, harmony, like poetry we know what are the thoughts of god because we read them , studied them prayed about them and We are comforted by them and we live them. No, God is not going to communicate to his followers any way other than through the holy spirit and the written word and far as I know , The holy spirit is MUTE verbally. This does not mean in any way that I down people if they claim to hear a voice because I myself do! But I always test out the spirits as God commanded me to. So, I have heard words and Liked them but anytime they do not Go together with the written word, I ignore it! The written word supersedes any voice I may hear!. That's what I do.

Yes, we take the Lords command personally when he said to go out and preach. Many so-called christians turn a deaf ear to that particular word (they'll listen to Jesus as long as what he's saying does NOT involve going outside their houses)... they chose to stay at home because they would be too embarrased or scared to go and knock on doors but when Jesus said to go out and make disciples Jehovah's Witnesses took it personally and there we are, not being "arm chair" christians, but on the front line declaring the gospel.
Of course it's easier to just preach to the converted in church or to friends, but Jesus sent us out so out is where we go. He spoke and we listen.
Few christian groups today can claim to be obediant to the Lord on this point - sadly it seems many are deaf to his voice in the scriptures below.

You only give two options; I choose option # 3:
Jehovah speaks to us through the pages of his written Word, the Bible.
He helps us to understand it by means of his holy spirit.
He further provides understanding through his Son, who uses the Christian Congregation.
Jesus is the head of that Congregation, and at this time he uses what he illustratively called "the faithful and discreet slave" to provide us our food at the proper time, as related in Matthew 24:45-47.

We do not believe Jesus will verbally communicate with us. If you and other born agains all speak with Jesus, why do you believe all different things? The bible answers all questions we need. Through the scriptures we can find all our answers.. Something for you to think about. Mark
