Would you like some of my acid?

What's the trippiest song you've ever heard? Dandelion by the Rolling Stones is definitely up there... literally.

O.o and btw if you haven't heard this song... you need to listen to it now! It definitely beats Dandelion, I can't believe I forgot about it! It has got to be one of the best songs ever written...

    Beautiful!

  • I love how "acid" is a kind of adjective that marries itself well wit other music genres.

Be it for Pink Floyd's early psychedelia - Astronomy Domine; or their stone-prog peak in DSoTM, Baggy Madchester (props up to the one who mentioned Primal Scream), baroque pop (Zombies), Alt Rock (Mercury Rev circa Boces)

and even rap (Dr.Octagon or delaSoul)

I've never tripped on acid, but if there was one song I would fancy a trip on it would be this:

Off topic a bit, but recently I''ve had something of a "Dream Pop" phase. I'm sure that technically it cannot be considered as part of the "acid" canon, but somehow, I can easily imagine tripping on many of this genre's canon. For one:

    "Itchycoo Park" Small Faces

If you haven't heard it - you should!!!!

Over Bridges of Sighs To rest my eyes in shades of green Under Dreaming SpiresTo Itchycoo Park, that's where I've been

)What did you do there? - I got high What did you feel there? - Well I cried But why the tears there? - I'll tell you why - yyyyy It's all to beautiful, It's all to beautifulI it's all to beautiful, It's all to beautiful

I feel inclined to blow my mind Get hung up, feed the ducks with a bun. They all come out to groove about Be nice and have fun in the sunI I'll tell you what I'll do - What will you do?I'd like to go there now with you You can miss out school - Won't that be cool Why go to learn the words of fools?

What will we do there? - We'll get high What will we touch there? - We'll touch the sky But why the tears there? I'll tell you whyI It's all to beautiful, It's all to beautifulI It's all to beautiful, It's all to beautifulI.
