Democracy in other countries, how does it differ from the USA?

I am writing a paper on what democracy means. Not only in the U.S. but what does democracy mean in OTHER countries. That being said if you can answer these simple questions. Please include country you are talking about.

What does democracy mean to you? How does it play a role in YOUR country? Can you provide some examples?

I don't think a true Democracy exists in any country at the moment. Governments are robbing their citizens of their rights by making committees that are not elected by the people and creating laws not under our elected legislators. More and more, especially in the United States, the minorities or controlling the masses by fitting themselves in key positions. Citizens need to be more conscious of what is going on around them in the United States and use what is left of our democracy to stomp out these Socialists from stealing their freedoms.

Our founding fathers fought against a democracy. We have a republic.
