Your best bet would be a fraternal organization, such as the VFW, American Legion,Moose lodge, etc. Generally they may have smaller halls with kitchen facilities you can use. We had our reception at a local VFW with 125 guests. The hall was just the right size, we were able to keep hot & cold foods in their kitchen, and it even had a small access window where we set up the bar. Here is a link to such organizations in NJ:

Some smaller hotels offer banquet rooms for receptions, but you would need to check on the food/liquor issue for each one. And if you have out-of-town guests needing a place to stay you can work out an arrangement for discounted rooms/banquet facility.
Metroparks and State parks often have rental facilities, and would offer a tranquil setting for your reception, but not all allow alcohol on site.
Depending on the time of year, you could have the reception on private property and rent tents. Many party rental companies have larger, classy looking tents for weddings & receptions. They would also have tables, chairs, linens, etc. Cost could be a factor here. You would need to call and see what package deals they offer.
Hope this is helpful.
