What can I do to make my son's birthday special?
My son is going through a divorce, and he's been very depressed for the last six months because of it. I'd like to do something special for his 41st birthday on February 10 but don't know what. Right now, he's in the Chicago area and my husband and I are in Mexico. He doesn't drink or smoke. Any ideas? Thanks

You sound like a nice Mom. What about buying him a plane ticket to come and visit you in the next month or so. Tell him you want him to come down and relax in the sun. Even if was just for a long weekend, it would give him something to look forward to. Warm sun and out of cold Chicago would probably do him good. Send him a car or Birthday email and tell him you will send him a check to cover it.

somethig with action then
maybe get him some sports tickets, if he is into that kind of thing
maybe hunting if he enjoys that
some cross of action, excitement and manliness
maybe if he is the calm type he woudl enjoy camping, or hiking
give him the chance to do an activity instead of giving a gift per-say
those will take his mind off stuff going on

Since he's 41, I would say get find him a hot 20-something female. That'll cheer any 40 year old guy up.
