Pride, arrogance, and self-centeredness are those nasty, all too common short comings many suffer from. They may have been learned from family or developed as a defense mechanism against society. Who knows for sure. However, the bottom line is that those who "think" themselves more intelligent usually aren't and it makes them very difficult to be around.

arrogance lol i know ppl like that, i think its also the environment they grew up in...i'm no specialist but they could have lacked attention and since they do/did well in school they seek attention by making their smarts known..it could be alot things
