Can anybody imagine a muzzle loader that you push out the breach plug with the cleaning rod?

New England arms and I believe cva both make a breakdown rifle that all you have to do is break it down like a single shot shotgun and then take the ramrod and bump the breach plug out for easy cleaning. It works great.

    Ha ha. Good catch.

I have a feeling that if you could push a breach plug out with a rod, the plug would embed in the shooter's face when the rifle was fired.

I remove mine with a socket wrench, or the wrench that came with the rifle.

The resultant explosion of gun parts could be quite painful, and possibly fatal. I prefer modern technology in my weapon. A phaser has no breech plug.
