The theme of the Boston Tea Party, an iconic event of American history, has long been used by anti-tax protesters with libertarian and conservative viewpoints. It is pure people-driven politics facilitated by the Internet. This is an ideological mix of libertarianism and conservatism with the common denominator being lower spending and smaller government. Government is too big. Spending is out of control. Individual freedom is at risk. And Obama's policies are making it all worse. The Tea Party opposes the increase in the national debt as well. The letters T, E, and A have been used by protesters to form the backronym "Taxed Enough Already."
The Tea Party will revolutionize the way the coming elections will be, and will change party affiliations in the coming years, the more this movement gets underway. Watch for it!

Sad is right. I have been an active Libertarian for ten years.. and I was all pumped up when this thing began to get some legs. But as soon as FOX jumped all over it.. I knew it was finished. I was at the second event in NV just outside of LV, and it was pretty much what it is typified to be these days; a whole bunch of crochety old white guys nodding zombie-like as Ann Coulter went on with her.. what is it supposed to be? Commentary? Comedy? Not sure, as she's not very good at either.. she's just divisive & disturbing, and a schill for the neocons.. My man Wayne Root spoke.. and he was excellent as always. I only hope that when the dust settles and this thing is long forgotten, the true patriots will have gotten the attention of a FEW real supporters from among this crowd. There is only one way to take this back.. ride the wave to find as many Libertarian converts as we possibly can from the sea of neocons. We will score a few. The funny part about this is; Mitt Romney is now trying to ride this thing as well.. and speaking out against nationalized healthcare. How silly is that? The pot who gave us the model for it in MA calling the kettle black? What a hypocrite. Another RINO. If you want to see fear in their eyes.. join the REAL party for change. The LP. The same old gruesome twosome of D's & R's are never going to be any different.. not for the better, anyway.

I am sure there are many from every party who are disgusted with the way things have been going and how little cooperation there has been with both parties. Independents and Libertarians are making their voices heard in a way that hasn't taken place in years and years. Those who are Republicans and Democrats who have been disappointed with their parties are now finding a new venue with the Tea Party Movement and this is going to be a group that makes a huge impact on what is taking place in the future. We are sick of the way things are and aren't going to take it any more!! Time for the changes that we want to take place.

The tea party movement are Conservative Repubs that went along with "W" Bush for the sake of unity during wartime. There may be some independants in the mix, but the values expoused by tea party-ers are not the values of the mushy-middle-of-the-roaders. They are people who feel government is not reflecting the way they should be governed.
Has the T Party influenced government? I looks like Barry O has abandoned his dreams of forcing socialized healthcare down everyone's throats. He's opting to, at least for now, appease the extreme left win of his party, which he needs to have any chance against Palin in 2012.

Actually the Tea Party Movement merely consists of true Patriotic Americans who transcend all political parties.
The same was true of those other Patriotic Americans who tossed Tea into Boston Harbor all those years ago.

It is an anti-Progressive movement that has mostly conservative members, but with some moderate members. It is for a smaller govt, with conservative economic policies. It is mostly a reaction to the far left agenda of Obama, Reid and Pelosi.
This movement has frightened moderates in Congress to reject some of the more radical ideas of Obama, Reid, and Pelosi. The Obamacare, the Cap and Tax bill and a the Mass Amnesty for Illegal Alien bill were shot down because of this movement.

while there are those who want to tag the Republicans with this movement but, it would seem there is a broad sample of Americans in this movement; they all want decent politicians and honest representation. So all the folks in the Congressional Halls in Washington and our home states, should take a close look at their deals and make sure they could stand the light of day.

On the contrary it is a reflection of American values and has all 4 party represented, the "TEA PARTY" is "We The People" not a political party but a political voice and the left does not understand that point of view. The result will be most Leftest up for reelection will be voted out by Americans who want to be represented not dictated to.
