Why does everyone still say "Global Warming" ?
More than ten years ago we realised that was an inaccurate title and renamed it GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE.

This is a silly argument started in denier forums by someone with a single digit IQ the name has not been changed the CC in IPCC is the simple answer, an organization started in 1988 (22 years ago).
Both are just names neither affect the actual effect in anyway.
In the same way that Americans have 'pickups' and Australians have 'utes' different names for the exact same thing the name has no effect on the actual thing.

i'm going to aim to be short, not my sturdy in shape ;). a million) How can all human beings be so up in hands approximately "international warming"? there is an significant hazard of deadly climate ameliorations and economically devastating sea element ameliorations. yet via all means enable's gamble! Wahoo! 2) there is little to no conclusive scientific evidence meaning that the international is heating up. this is an outrageous lie. international temperature upward push is prevalent certainty. 3) There have not been efficient checklist retaining techniques until finally the previous few hundred years. this is yet yet another outrageous lie. There are suggestions-blowing ice middle records, etc. going back notably much 0.5 a million years and quite spotter records going back some billion years. effective i discussed billion. 4) certainly, indoors the 1970's there grew to alter into precise right into a scare approximately "international Cooling". It grew to alter into into not regularly a scare. human beings reported a short era of cooling indoors the 1970's, area of the organic and organic version you naysayers are consistently harping on. some crackpot have been given right here up with a international cooling thought, which grew to alter into into rapidly discredited. 5) Pseudo-technological information is all that this is! What do you think of of? i don't think of of you're waiting to desire to talk approximately your self that way, even inspite of if this is easily.

Because the newest studies show that the climate change is from the oceans getting warmer, so therefore, since the world is 2/3 water, it is still global warming.

Old habits die hard. People have a tough time adjusting their vocabulary. Case in point: My great aunt, who isn't the least bit racist, still refers to blacks as 'colored' because that's the word that was used while she was growing up.
Plus, a lot of people still don't know how climate change works. The take the term 'global warming' literally.
I usually try to use the term 'climate change', but I do slip up once in a while.
Nick: Because it's winter. You're one of the people who take the term too literally.

Both terms are used interchangeably. The problem with the term 'Global Warming' is that some people forget what 'global' really means and they are expecting that it doesn't snow in their backyard in winter anymore. 'Global Climate Change' explains it better because, whilst the planet is warming globally, weather extremes concerning cooling, for example, still exist in some parts of the world. That's actually one of the characteristics of Climate Change; more extreme weather events!

It's climate change if you don't want to seem too alarmist, it's global warming if you want the change to be associated with man made, CO2 induced, catasrophic, global warming.
Our world is growing oblivious to actual facts, Africa and Australia have always been plagued with droughts, continued episodes of droughts = climate same not climate change. Now if Africa and Australia started getting more rain and the deserts started greening that would be climate change.
I heard the most hysterical statement made yesterday, students were talking about the importance of reducing green house gases. One made a statement about how important global warming is, she said, "it may not be that important here in England where we live but it's having a huge impact in Africa and Australia where they have droughts." Ignore the climate history, those huge desert and arid regions have only recently been created due to global warming, I mean climate change.

After a long cooling trend, we had scientists predicting the coming Ice Age in the 1970's. Global temperatures began to increase. then it changed to the Global Warming. Since 1998, there hasn't been any increase, so they tried to rename it climate change. That could cover temperature increases or decreases. Unfortunately for them, the Albatross of warming hung around their necks because of all their dire predictions that haven't come true.
If you don't get the reference, please read the poem. It is required reading for everyone.

Scientists (who have access to maybe 10 million people in the U.S.) have always called it Climate Change, the media (which has access to 307 million people in the U.S.) has always called it Global Warming.

Because the 'cause' of global warming was marketed as just that..... "global warming".
When the Earth refused to cooperate with the 'man-did-it' global warming thing (it stopped warming).... the Warmists desperately attempted to change the 'brand' to "climate change".
With this tactic, the Warmers hope to blame ANYTHING that the weather does on all of us...... cooling, too much rain, too much snow..... too much nice weather.... etc.
It's all a gimic perpetrated by individuals, politicians and some businessmen who all have hopes for wealth, glory and fame.

I know you're well meaning, but you're wrong. It was never "renamed" to climate change, and "global warming" is still just as well accepted among scientists.
The term "climate change" does not imply that the planet may warm and/or cool. It just refers to the fact that a significant global warming will affect other aspects of the climate system, such as wind patterns and precipitation patterns. So 'climate change' encompasses more effects, but it is still caused by the rise (not fall) of the average global temperature.
