How do you know you make good reads if you haven't played?

How do you know you are going to be smart with the ball if you haven't played?

You aren't fast for the skill positions.

You aren't strong for the line.

Your chances may be next to zero. But, try out and find out.

Don't take offense to this, just my opinion. If you never played organized tackle football with skilled players against you like there will be in college, then you dont know if you have good cut moves, or if you can shake off tackles. Those are things you learn from experience. Also if you never played contact sports, your gonna have a rude awakening the first time you get lit up at running back. You won't know how to protect the ball and take the hit. Playing flag football with the gang is no way to judge how good you are at football... It's easy to juke someone who isn't lining you up to drill you... If you want to play then by all means go to tryouts. But if i were you i would focus more on working your way up to a starting position instead of transferring to a division one school... That will definately not happen. The star WR on my highschool team had those same plans you have, and he played his entire life and could smoke you in a footrace, i guarantee that. He ended up transferring just to ride the bench his last 2 years.

No you will not be able to play you havnt been in a football system and have to learn a playbook its to late sorry

  • Yes you can. The greatest WR of all time didn't play football until his 12th grade year in high school. Your not that far behind.
