A question for everyone willing to think on their own and not just coping off of someone else.on hatred much?

Hello everyone.

I have studied many religions for years, spanning from Abrahamic religions to Buddhism, to Atheism and the Occult Paths, and over the years I have never come across so much hatred as I have here...

To the Christians: Why must a great number of you preach hatred to others? Your religion itself boasts of Love and Compassion. Thus why are you threatening people with death and burning, when you are supposed to Love thy neighbor like thy brother? ,, by your religion, you are not fit to judge another human being, but it for your God to judge them, thus casting you to be lower than him. By judging and being hatred to others of different beliefs, are you saying that you are equal or higher then your God? or are you not listening to his words?

To Athiests : Over the span of a year, I have seen more and more attacks on Athiesm, for this I am sorry, that one would be verbally attacked due to thier religon or lack there of, or for your own personal beliefs on ideals. I respect your right to choose, and the fact that you are all generally nicer then most of the religious people on here. Though that is only part of it, as some (not all) do attack the christian belief as well. Two wrongs do not make a right.. and I think that if you dont attack them, you would be the Bigger person, as to not fall into the realm of hatred and judging of others.. Can we work on not attacking back? .. I know it does get annoying haveing to defend yourselfves all the time..

To my fellow Occultist. (all Pagan, Wiccan, Satanists and Eclectics) There are very few of us on here in these days, and most of those looking for information are cast down by others for going aginst the will of their God. Please do not be discouraged.. there is many hard feelings towards the Olden Paths. -- many of you that I have met on here are quite pleasent to talk to, and are some of the nicest people I have met. Though even with this, there are till the few that are willing to say negative things to our fellow humans. Just becasue they do not share our beliefs, does not mean that they desearve to be trated as poorly as they treat us. Can we work on this? .. please?

As for those of Other religions that I have not stated, you all are not that big in attacking others.. I appreiciate your ability to do so. It makes you seem like you have good heads on your shoulders, and a good moral standpoint.

-- Please answer the questions pointed towards your religion, and state your opinions on this if you like. please no bible verses. as I have read both the Christian bible and the Satanic Bible.

I encourage personal thoughts, so please feel free to criticise and state your own opinions.

-- my appologies for my grammer and spelling.. english is not my first language..

-- thank you all

-Suni,.

Update:

@ only jesus saves-- I asked for no bible verses. why can you not adhere to this request? you did not answer my question at all, only showed ignorance to my words.

Update 2:

@ josh3 -- you are preaching to me, while I thank you for not useing bible verses to do so,, I am asking why most want to show hatred in trying to convert people. then love. and im sorry,, but i have studied your religion many years, and am sound in my own beliefs.. please respect this.

Update 3:

@ P.K -- thank you for prooving my point.

Update 4:

@ ruth- I am 18 years old, almost 19, I went to a church for 14 years, studied Wicca for 8 and have been studying Paganism since I was a able to read. I also studied satinism for 4 years. Thank you for prooving my point. BTW - i was in the military, and am a junior in college.

Update 5:

@ pat -- once again i ask for no bible verses, and all i get is ignorance to my request. i want your opinion, not words out of a book written by man. you dont need to use the ALL CAPS thing. i can read it all the same.

Update 6:

@ shinji -- Thank You, you are one of few that have accually answered my question completely and honestly. I thank you for your explanation of your belief and your willingness to do so civily. May your day be blessed with happiness and joy.

My thought on the matter is that both theists and atheists choose not to accept that "the will of God", as they perceive it or do not perceive it, is indiscriminate. God, for lack of a better word, name, or title, does not care about nationality, belief system, or doctrine. The issue rests purely in Faith, or lack thereof.

Therefore I say we should follow the example set and become indiscriminate. Undiscriminating faith or undiscriminating faithlessness... either way leads to a lack of hatred.

If one considers that only two base emotions control human behaviour, those being Love and Fear, the realization that hatred is merely a result of fear is reached. When the realization that only Love and Fear control human behaviour is reached, the realization follows that every other emotional set is merely a varying degree of the root emotion from which it has stemmed.

That being said, if one be a Theist, then follow the doctrine... to include the behaviours outlined by that doctrine. If one be an Atheist, lead by example and treat others better they expect to be treated by members of their chosen religion/path/belief system.

The larger problem is that so many people seem to hold the opinion that their own personal will can and must be used as a weapon to force their personal beliefs onto others through hatred and malicious attacks. What a person believes does not give them a right to force that belief upon others. The art of Civility, as well as Tact are tools that should be used to simply share what one's point of view is without creating offense or injury. The simple fact is that regardless what we individually believe or choose to follow, we never see eye to eye even when we are on the same path. That being said, a measure of interpersonal respect regardless of belief should be adhered to.

However, realistically, in this environment (YA, R&S) it is unlikely that a "peaceful" discussion in either direction is likely to be a consistent occurrence, given the variety of age groups, attitudes, and opinions combined with that ever present desire to debate their points as opposed to merely express them.

Source(s): I am neither a Theist nor an Atheist. I am not Pagan, Wiccan, or Satanist. I merely am that which I am, as I choose to be. Such is the very nature of Free Will. Others know only that which I choose to show. Yet the vibration is free for all to see...

I have been a christian all my life, and always will be. And me being a christian i have no hate towards anyone with anyother beliefs. Its not anyones fault the way they were brought up. If one did not have parents to bring up God in their lives. They will not know. Therefore they cannot believe. But i tell you one thing. God always finds his way into one's lives. And though i've have not read any satanic anything, and don't plan on. But i have learned being a christian that life is a test to advance to the next level. And being in denial your whole life isn't going to help any. Many other religions have this state of denial, like "oh thats not true theres no God, theres no devil, theres no this and that" When in Christianity God tells you straight up like hey, there is a devil, there is hate in this world, there are people that are lost, there are people that need help, there are evil things on this earth, But GOD. God is about hope. God gives you commandments not to be cruel, but to help US have a better life. Because he knows how cruel this world is! He says look! don't have sex before marriage, because there are things in this world that can hurt you! Not to spoil your fun! But he knows the consequences. But he also says if you ask for his forgivness, you are forgiven! No questions asked! I don't know about anyone else, and why there are so many people that hate or deny God. Because there is evil in this world? Okay. don't believe in him. believe in nothing, and still see that the world isn't going to treat you any different.

    Oh get over yourself!!!

This is a debate forum, where people have strong views and come to argue one way or the other.

I dont take the views of some creationist seriously, and I doubt if my logic is going to penetrate 10 years of home-schooled propoganda to some fundamenatlist either

(I generally find that those who follow 'the olden paths' (ie the hippy conglomeration of beliefs pretending to be much older and wiser than they really are) are the most pretentious bunch of all.)

Now... I don't say you cant follow 'the olden paths' or Christianity or Islam or whatever.... but if you are going to come onto a public forum and try to defend the indefensible, without any evidence or logic, then be prepared to receive a wake-up call

On one hand, we are commanded by the Lord Jesus, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged” (Matthew 7:1). On the other hand, the Bible also exhorts us to beware of evildoers and false prophets and to avoid those who practice all kinds of evil. How are we to discern who these people are if we do not make some kind of judgment about them?

Christians are often accused of "judging" whenever they speak out against a sinful activity. However, that is not the meaning of the Scripture verses that state, "Do not judge." There is a righteous kind of judgment we are supposed to exercise—with careful discernment (John 7:24). When Jesus told us not to judge (Matthew 7:1), He was telling us not to judge hypocritically. Matthew 7:2-5 declares, "For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." What Jesus was condemning here was hypocritical, self-righteous judgments of others.

In Matthew 7:2-5, Jesus warns against judging someone else for his sin when you yourself are sinning even worse. That is the kind of judging Jesus commanded us not to do. If a believer sees another believer sinning, it is his Christian duty to lovingly and respectfully confront the person with his sin (Matthew 18:15-17). This is not judging, but rather pointing out the truth in hope—and with the ultimate goal—of bringing repentance in the other person (James 5:20) and restoration to the fellowship. We are to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). We are to proclaim what God's Word says about sin. 2 Timothy 4:2 instructs us, "Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage — with great patience and careful instruction." We are to "judge" sin, but always with the goal of presenting the solution for sin and its consequences—the Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:6).

It is much funnier when I go on the attack anyway as an atheist.

Yes, this forum is full of hate

    I am Christian

I have NEVER threatened any one with Hell, or said anyone is going there.

  • 1 decade ago

By me telling people they are going to hell unless they turn to Jesus and repent and get born again by the Holy Spirit, I AM loving them. I'm trying to get them to go to heaven instead of hell. We ARE suppose to judge people. Jesus said, "judge with righteous judgment." (John 7:24). Peter judged a man's salvation real good in the bottom Scripture below.

The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God - Psalm 9:17.

Her house is the way to hell, descending to the chambers of death - Proverbs 7:27. That's about a seducing, immoral woman (v.5). The Hebrew word for hell means the OT designation for the abode of the dead, wicked sent there for punishment, righteous not abandoned to it.

Jesus said, "Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell?" - Matthew 23:33. The Greek word for hell means the place of the future punishment called Gehenna or Gehenna of fire. This was originally the valley of Hinnom, south of Jerusalem, where the filth and the dead animals of the city were cast out and burned; a fit symbol of the wicked and their future destruction.

    "hell fire" (Matthew 5:22).

"Circumcise yourselves to the Lord, and take away the foreskins of your hearts, you men of... lest My fury come forth like FIRE, and BURN so that NO ONE can QUENCH it, because of the evil of your doings." - Jeremiah 4:4.

His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out (to eliminate the bad from the good) His threshing floor, and gather His wheat (us saved ones) into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff (worthless, unrepentive sinners) with UNQUENCHABLE FIRE. (Matt. 3:12)

Jesus said, "Then He will say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the EVERLASTING FIRE prepared for the devil and his angels'... These will go away into EVERLASTING PUNISHMENT, but the righteous into eternal life." - Matthew 25:41-46.

since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you... in FLAMING FIRE taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power - 2 Thes. 1:6-9.

Jesus said, "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them." - Matthew 7:15-20.

But Peter said to him, "Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money. You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God. Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you. For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity." - Acts 8:20-23.
