I froze a can of diced tomato by mistake & after it thawed, I put it back to shelf. Is it still safe to eat?

Stupid I know, I accidentally put a can of diced tomatoes in the freezer when putting groceries away. After finding it a few days later, I let it thaw out and put it away properly. It never crossed my mind that it may have affected the quality of the tomatoes... Today, I cooked that tomatoes, ate it, and now I have upset stomach. I am wondering if it was from the tomatoes??

Update:

chinchy - i am posting here because i want to know if my stomach ache is from the tomatoes! So obviously i shouldn't have posted before i ate the tomatoes. My husband is coming home soon and I am not sure if I should serve the dish to him or not. Since I am not sure if it's bad. So that's why I am here!

Should not have made a difference... the tomatoes are cooked in the can so freezing them would make no difference. Many people make large batches of spaghetti sauce and freeze the leftovers with no problems.

Your upset stomach is not due to freezing canned tomatoes.

Why would you eat it then post the question? (I guess you just don't think at all. First you freeze a CAN of tomatoes, then you eat them and want to ask if they're ok, AFTER you've consumed them).

With your logic, there's no telling what else you combined with your food that may have your stomach upset. Could be the tomatoes...and it may not be. If you still feel bad tomorrow, go to the Dr. (geez!).

When you realized what you did you should haveput the tomatoes in the refrigerator until

you were ready to use them. That may be what is causing your trouble. I would not serve

    them to your husband.

Chances are no, not the tomatoes.
