Who's your NL prediction team and sleeper player?
I keep seeing posts on here about the Yankees. I like the Yankees much more than the Red Sox, but I don't see much on here about the NL teams or players. Who do you guys see coming to the World Series representing the National League and who do you see as one of the top NL players that nobody predicts to be huge this year (i guess i'm asking you who your "sleeper" is)

Call me crazy, but I see the Cardinals winning the NL this year. I like the odds of the Phillies again, but St. Louis has 3 amazing pitchers (Carpenter, Wainwright and Penny). And I’m sure that signing Matt Holliday doesn’t hurt their chances. I just think they play with great chemistry and getting to the world series has a whole lot to do with catching the right momentum. If they do that, then they’re in great shape. But if they don’t catch that momentum and find someone who can close games, look for the Phillies to rise above with some competition coming from the Dodgers. I just don’t see LaRussa failing the Cardinals this year, he’s way too good for that.
As for my sleeper, I actually look for Hunter Pence from Houston to make a big impact. If you remember, he was talked about a lot and kind of died down, but he’s always been good. Now that he’s adjusted to the league, I look for him to have a big year. I also see Geovani Soto and Jason Bay to have good years too.

Im a Yankees fan, and I think the Phillies may make it back to the World Series again this year. They have an awesome team, only improving since last season. Roy Halladay is going to help them A LOT, and the offensive additions will help too. They have a solid rotation with a lot of big names and have potential to go to the World Series this season. May even be a repeat of last year's World Series.

I think the Cardinals should win the National League. I don't believe the Yankees can repeat, so my early pick for the series win is the Cards too. As for a sleeper player...I believe they will come out of the minors.

The Cards and Phils have the toughest NL teams, but that doesn't mean a team like Colorado can't get it together a sneak one out.

i like the Cardinals. they got a great rotation and the best position player in the game. they're my early favorite to win the NL.
as for sleepers... i expect this to finally be Cameron Maybin's year. he's the CF for the Marlins, and been a prospect for a while. i see him finally reaching his potential. i also think a change of scenery to Milwaukee will be good for Carlos Gomez. expect him to hit better and get on base and create a lot of havoc. that has the potential to become an incredibly potent offense with him at the top to set it up for Braun and Fielder.
