Hill's Presciption Diet C/D other alternatives?

I personally wouldn't like to feed any Science Diet food to my dogs, however, since your dog just had bladder surgery it may be best to keep her on the prescription food until you can fully research the ingredients and possibly find another food with the same or very similar ingredients. As for her not liking the food...just keep trying, she will eat it when she gets hungry enough, dogs wont starve themselves.

I personally would never feed that to any of my animals, If you want to feed a prescription type diet, there are higher quality ones out there. Royal Canin IVD also has one, I'd probably feed it before SD.

I like wysong foods but I really like their ideology that dogs should have a variety of food, especially fresh real food and kibble should be used as a back up. I think they also have a veterinary line (http://www.wysong.net/prescription-cat-dog-foods.p... but it is harder to find.

You'll need to know what type of stone. I worked with a dog with calcium oxylate bladder stones - the Fuzzer Diet (a homemade diet) has kept him healthy and stone free for nearly 6 years.

Have you tried warming the food up for her? My cat had stones and he wouldn't eat it unless it was warm, smells better when warm. Keep her on that prescription food until the vet gives you the ok to change it. Than you might be able to find a regular food with urinary track medications in it.

I don't know of any off hand. And don't listen to people telling you it's "crap food", without taking the time to realize it's a PRESCRIPTION DIET for crystals. High Quality dog foods rarely ever carry prescription food. C/D is not the tastiest food, but she will eat it eventually, no dog will starve itself out of stubbornness :).
