Wow, lots of totally clueless answers here!

    YOU DON'T TIP IN KOREA!

In Korea, a service charge is automatically taken out of your bill, which is equivalent to a tip. This is what is given to the servers and hotel workers.

Tipping is not a custom in Korea! Koreans don't tip, and foreigners who know anything about Korea don't tip either except in very special circumstances!

In fact, the travel guide for Korea, Lonely Planet Korea, actually suggests that it is better to leave a courteous note than a tip, since they won't know what to do with a tip.

    Does that answer your question?

The only time when you might tip is in an extremely high-level establishment like a five-star hotel or restaurant.

Source(s): Lived in Korea for five years, and anyone who has spent any substantial amount of time there knows that tipping is not customary in most restaurants

    10% is usually good.

I've actually palmed 10,000won notes to a waiter at a hotel restaurant for faster service.

There is no answer or rule.

It's your free will.(but it's better to give 'tip' than not to do.)

    Do as in your country.
