Swollen Nostril piercing.. please help me!?

I got my nose pierced about a month and a half ago, i think in the end of december. Anyway, its a bit swollen around the hole on the outside. This just started 3 days ago. Its not really that bad but if you were to look at it you'd be able to notice that my stud is a little lifted because of it. it kind of looks like i glued a rhinestone on a pimple. I just want to make sure that its not an infection because it definitely doesn't hurt at all its just a little swollen. I'm not sure what happened but i think i rubbed it around a few times in the middle of the night and it might have gotten caught in my bed sheet a few times. If someone could please tell me why its swollen and what i can do to make it go down.. someone suggested that i put vaseline or neosporin on it and others said to try to put ice on it. I also have the H2Ocean salt water spray but i'm not sure if that's going to help... Btw i changed it from the one the piercer put in (the stud with the curly-ish u end) to a pin with the ball at the end like a week or 2 ago and i started taking it out everyday to clean it with hot water and stopped doing that when it started swelling. the stud is 18K gold. and i usually push it throughout the day to make sure the ball is still poking through the other side and I do wear makeup but when I'm done applying it I clean around it with a wet cotton swab. i really dont know wht happend but i'm suspecting it to be from when it got caught in the bed sheets. Can someone please help me?

Update:

I'm not really sure but I think it might be a pimple because i have a pimple right next to the piercing ( i know its really embarrassing x( ) and i think it might have popped or something and went under the stud and created another pimple right on the hole....embarrassing..... but i'm still not sure so i'll try what you guys said and see what happens

the pimple thing is called a granuloma, you get these when your piercing is irritated yes, but also when your piercing ring is TOO SHORT. the post with the small non-removable ball on it are the worst ones to choose, although they are the most concealed, they cause the most problems among those who wear it. The post is TOO short, so if your piercing gets bumped/moved around and it swells this post does not allow adequate room to swell, so then you get the granuloma, then your piercing is swollen even more, causing the granuloma to get larger. the best thing is to change the ring to a longer one, possibly the corkscrew kind, and clean it regularly.

you probably wont be able to get the post you have in out, unless you cut it off with nail clippers, which i had to do myself.

    something to help,

warm tea bag compress on the granuloma 2 times a day, along with tea tree oil (which can be found at cvs near the nail care stuff.)

also a teaspoon on SEA SALT in 8 oz of water, dip a qtip in this and carefully clean the piercing.

how do i know all this.?

    i JUST went through it.

pretty much either cut it out (if you cant remove it.)

and get a new longer piercing ring.

OR cut it out wait for everything to heal and get it re-pierced... OR cut it out and never do that again.

ive learned the hard way. take my adviceee

well its probably swollen from all that moving around, i mean you just got it recently. try warm water with just a tiny bit of salt and try not to touch it as much for a week, and then see what happens.

Stop taking it out. i think its just aggravated from all the movment. One thing iv learned is that nose piercings dont like being touched!

definately you switching and taking it out. keep the curly one in. and dont touch it!

has nothing to do with the bedsheets

dont worry just leave it alone for a while and ur good to go :)
