Can anyone recommend a good breast pump?

I'm not actually eligible for maternity leave (technically not employed, so I don't pay EI, so I can't collect, this is actually legal, I've looked into it), so I will be returning to full time work somewhere in the 4-8 month range. I've heard a lot of stories about people who tried to express but weren't able to keep it up, partly because of the pump. What would be a good, relatively inexpensive, pump with enough power to make pumping at work feasible? I'm willing to pay what is needed, but I don't want to go overboard, because after a point I'm no longer saving money.

I use the Medela Pump in Style Advanced. It is a double electric. If you are going to be pumping at work, that is the best bet. Thankfully, you should have a pretty good supply built up by then, but it is hard to keep up, so make sure you keep nursing lots, too.

    Good luck!

Ok if money is an issue

I'd go with the Lansinoh double electric

It's the same pump as the Ameda Purely Yours, but it's just differently colored plastic

It will run you about 120-140 dollars

You will definitely need a double electric pump, so don't skimp on that

However, you don't have to buy one of the super nice 300 dollar pumps

    Definitely the Lansinoh

Medela Symphony. It was the best one out of the ones I had tried. Medela pumps are on the expensive side. But truth is,I found that the cheaper the pump, the more crappy it is. If you can't afford to buy one up front like that. You can always rent.

i think my medela pump in style is worth every penny...much cheaper than formula, too!
