Sublingual benzodiazepine method?

Can i get an answer from someone with personal experience, no preaching or medical rumor bull****. I have heard from many that it is the fastest and most effective method. If you keep it under your tongue, once it has dissolved to powder do you keep that there for a little? How long exactly would you keep one (xanax, klonopin) under your tongue for the best effects? I hear that it works only for a select few of benzos (the ones i noted), but would it work for valium 10 mg as well though?

It only works for benzodiazepines that are designed to dissolve.

Klonopin, for instance, comes in both forms. One will not dissolve correctly and is not appropriate for sublingual delivery.

You keep the dissolving pill under your tongue until it has dissolved. Swallowing it before this means you have bypassed the sublingual method. The purpose of sublingual is that it is much faster getting into the bloodstream than letting the pill go into the stomach first.

I do not believe valium comes in a dissolving, sublingual form and xanax is the most horrible tasting pill EVER, so I also wouldn't recommend that unless you have been informed you have a sublingual, dissolving form of it. Ativan is likely the most appropriate medication for this method.

well, i don't know. i don't know about cheers, but i'm not quite old enough to have been here in the 1800s, when Morse code and wireless was widely used. while it still is used to some extent today, it's not a major form. i also notice that cell phones and text msgs are not included in the question, but are becoming more and more important. clearly, normal speaking is the basis for just about everything. however, different situations are often better addressed by different forms. for those of us with memories that seem to, "lack a tad" email is good. we can go back and look again tomorrow, and the next day, and the next. i think radio was probably the best general form, other than having a conversation. TV seems to distract from the content with pictures. also, these days, cable TV is rarely useful, what with political lies, and situation shows that are so far from reality, but are talked about, and thought about, as if they were real. when you cannot be just having a conversation, telephone is good. being able to talk to someone half a planet away is quite amazing. i think i'll vote for: 1) just having a conversation, 2) cell phone and text msgs 3) radio. 4) email. 5) tv 6) poor old Morse. sorry Sam.

I have heard that does work but only slightly more effectively as compared taking the tablet orally, because the pills are specifically designed to optimally dissolve in your stomach (usually not chewed or crushed) release their medication into your body.
