Weather and Snowfall?

Usually its 10 inches of snow = 1 inch of rain,but then if its a mixture of sleet and snow it can be more moisture which take less snow to equal a inch of rain,also the temp. plays a part in it to,if snow is fluffier it may take more snow to equal a inch of rain.

Hey Now! Don't really have an answer, just tryin to holla @ ya! Here in Baltimore, we received 22 inches of snow, then again we recevied another 10 inches of snow. Now it is reported that we are going to receive another 7 inches of snow this Tuesday. You would never believe how the snow is like snow mounds here. It is truly unbelievable. I am frm Cleveland, Ohio. We have so much snow that falls all winter that is Lake effect snow from Canada. However, The amount of snow that fell in one time surpasses anything I have ever seen!!! Truly, it was a Blizzard here in the Maryland, D.C., VA., area. The likes of which I may never see again in my lifetime!

It was funny because this September I was sitting on my porch. It was 78 degrees, and I saw geese flying south. I said then, it is going to be a harsh winter! lol

Anyway, I had to go the the Nissan Dealer to get a part for my '06 Sentra (5 speed). I saw the 2010 Maxima. They say that Nissan will make the Maxima in a 4 wd. Oh Wow! Gotta scoop that one!

So, I know I did not answer your question, but let me tell all of you. That I have never seen this much snow before. I wonder, what will happen when it melts.

I also have gotten my car washed today to get that salt off my car. As soon as the snow melts, I will get it paste waxed polished. You know I gotta keep Smokey Blue Smurfette Clean!!!! lol

generally 10 inches of snow willl melt into 1 inch of water. Sometimes the snow-liquid ration can be much higher when snow falls into a very cold air mass and temperatures are 20 degress or less at ground level.

So sounds like the temperature plays a big part on the ratio.
