That depends, the liberation of the camps was performed by British, American and Russian divisions as they advanced towards and into Germany on various fronts. I believe the Russuians were first to stumble upon them. However, many Germans themselves helped to hide Jews along with many people of occupied countries. Let us not forget though that the Jews were not the only people to be gassed and subjected to the brutality of the death camps. So basically rescuers were made up of a very wide variety of people from all walks of life.

The Russians!!! They were the first to find and liberate concentration camps, then the other Allies went in. Many countries (especially England) claim that it was mostly THEM who won the war, when they infact forget the red army when they liberated the camps. Hope this helps!
