What kind of green vegetables (if any) are okay to eat while on Coumadin?

I know I have to stay away from leafy greens like lettuce, cabbage, spinach, and broccoli...but what about other green vegetables/fruits...like zucchini, cucumbers, and avocados? Please answer if you have personal or professional experience regarding this drug and its effects with foods high in Vitamin K.

While on Coumadin you should eat the same amount of green veggies you were eating before. You don't necessarily have to stay away from them altogether but you shouldn't greatly increase or decrease the amount of vitamin K you're ingesting, as that can alter your clotting. Talk to your pharmacist for more information.

Stay totally away from dark green leafy vegetables! Read the pamphlet that comes with your Coumadin, as there are other things you avoid. Fruits are fine. Light colored veggies are fine. You sound as if you know your stuff regadring Vitamin K. And keep up on your bloodwork.
