Has anyone ever wanted to ride a roller coaster but they were scared?

I promised my friends last year that I would ride all the scary rides at Six Flags but I ended up scared so I rode the ride called the scary house which is not even scary and I went to Skull Island which is a big water park. Every body wanted me to ride the Acrophobia which is a ride that is all the way up and it goes down very fast, lol I wasn't going to ride that. But anyway how can I get over being so scared of riding the Cyclone, everybody told me it wasn't going to be scary so i rode and i'm never going to ride a roller coaster ever again. So plz tell me how I couldnt be scared to ride rollercoaters, oh yeah and no mean comments because I will say something back.

Hey! I was always terrified to even go near roller coasters until 1 day I just did it. It's not that bad! I am now a lover of roller coasters. All of the things you fear the most don't happen. I was always scared that I was going to fall out or that the seat belt would randomly slip. That has never happened. The silly little fears never come true, I promise. If you just go and do it, you'll laugh at yourself later. Go for it!

Put it this way. I went to Six Flags Magic Mountain and Cedar Point in one year. Both are the Meccas of roller coasters. I rode 8/38 roller coasters at those two parks. That is A LOT of chickening out. I don't ride due to fear of getting sick. I don't know why you don't ride them but I think you should just go for it. They are the most fun thing in the world!

just make yourself go on it. Just keep telling yourself youre gonna be ok. Thats what i do. an di usually end up riding again and loving it. just breathe, dont overreact, just tell yourself youll be fine and you will be. and if your just not a big roller coaster kinda person, than theres, nothing you can do about it but you never know until you try. And even if you decide you just dont likebug roller coasters, when your with friends, you should at least make an effort to make yourself go on somethings, maybe just the smaller ones, nut they cant really make you go on, so you have to make yourself.

My first "actual" coaster (with corkscrew twists) was a few years ago. I was sort of nervous, but I just went (alone) because my friends were annoying me and I dumped them LoL I continuously told myself it wouldn't be scary. It wasn't. (eh-hem. A ride that was only like 20 seconds+an hour of waiting)

    The feeling of a coaster:

Falling - weird feeling on stomach

Twists/Turns/Corkscrews - Headbanging pain (yes it hurts a little)

It gives you a relaxing sensation on your back though

You can only be scared if you fear heights I guess.

TIP: Scream as loud as you can on any fall just to have fun and ignore that "IM-GONNA-FLY-OFF" feeling!

Oh, and if you can, keep your hands waving high in the air. Sometimes people like to hold/pull onto the bar/restraint while the coaster is dropping because it makes them feel safe. But really, they're fighting against the force of the drop itself and thus making more force on their body

At least that's how it is for me. LoL :) Happy coaster riding

Don't look at the ride while your queuing or talk about it. Talk about animls or your intrests maybe even gossip just shove the ride out of your mind. When it's your turn keep talking and act casual. When the ride sets off either close your eyes and pretend your not there or think 'I will enjoy this' and you probably will.

confident, i like curler coasters too. purely final month, I went with a chum who i will call Sarah for this tale. I invited herto six flags super adventure, simply by fact she is ussually incredibly brave, an excellent chum, and mentioned she enjoyed huge curler coasters. We went on a medium sized curler coaster to start with, simply by fact she wanted to get "warmed-up". Then we went on somewhat bigger of one, and it replaced into o.k., yet she enjoyed it. Then, we went to pass on the medusa, a curler coaster that is going the opposite direction up 11 situations, and she or he chickened out. After one or 2 extra enormous curler coasters (which she did no longer pass on) i had to stay together with her the the remainder of the day on like the carousel, or the mini log flume! It sucked... a minimum of i've got been given interior the Kingda Ka. Now, i reallize that none of my associates will pass on any bigger curler coasters with me, so I ought to pass with my brother.

    chicken!!! lol

just kidding : ) (u don't have to say anything back)

remember when your on a roller coaster you can just make the ride less scary by screaming..

    Aaaaa!!!!!

    O S***!!!!

    ect...

    it really works..

  • i just close my eyes, not scream, just sit and relax. then again it kind of ruins the fun but thats what i do and i could go on any ride.
