Jesus was the best man who ever lived yet the world hated him. Did he please God before the world?
Mark 3;5 Says he looked about in anger so we know his feelings directed his choices but he did no sin.
Wrong time, wrong place - There are but you just won't accept them.
Christianty it self proves the Jesus Christ lives.
Octogen;- I do say Jesus was the only human ever to live who never acted out any sin in God's eyes. All of the previous prophets were sinners. Jesus was the lamb without spot or blemish, the antitypical lamb of God

We are tempted to please the world but as the scriptures say, "They have their reward". We hope to please God by doing His will as far as we can. It is to God that all the glory and honour are due and we also give our profound thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for the awful sacrifice he willingly made for the faithful.

Kate why such a question? The only way to really please God is to attempt to put His world that he gave us to rights.
How can you say that Jesus was the best man that ever lived?
What about the prophets who lived for so long before Christs birth in 0:1 AD.?
Do we take these scriptures too much for granted? i think that we do.

If I please God, He is Most Gracious and will protect me internally/externally or both if I am in trouble. But I gain nothing for pleasing the world who are sooo perfectionist in some way and will not always be there for me if I am in trouble for emotional support or other kinds of support. Though I am blessed with everything, but sometimes real relationships are tested in times of hardship to see who are our true friends/relatives. Even if we have support from the world, but if God does not permit us to feel better/good, nothing change. The faith brings strength from within.

After the great flood God had promised "he will not destroy man anymore"
So God let the life flow as it is, however he already know what is going to happen to all of us and the universe he created.
Now, God's only hope is for him to be recognized, be believed upon and worship. God has no more concern of the man's mortality but concern about their souls.
Your question has two part, 1 is living with good moral principle or 2 living without.
Living without religion and with good moral principle is far better than living with religion and has no moral principle.
After all moral principle is as simple as "human instinct" of which God had made within us.
Live with God and face the world.

Jesus' father, Jehovah.
John 10:30:
When saying, “I and the Father are one,” did Jesus mean that they were equal? Some Trinitarians say that he did. But at John 17:21, 22, Jesus prayed regarding his followers: “That they may all be one,” and he added, “that they may be one even as we are one.” He used the same Greek word (hen) for “one” in all these instances. Obviously, Jesus’ disciples do not all become part of the Trinity. But they do come to share a oneness of purpose with the Father and the Son, the same sort of oneness that unites God and Christ.

The Bible is quite clear that we are not supposed to concern ourselves with pleasing other people. Help people, yes. Be compassionate, charitable, generous, loving, kind, tolerant, patient, and so on -- but seek to be virtuous in those ways because that is what God wants you to do. And do not be surprised if even doing all of those things the world still hates you.

I want to please God. I feel like a fish going against the current sometimes!!
A lot of people make Christians to be crazy. It seems like we are pushing against the forces that are trying to drag us down...
I will fight for God & I know Jesus Christ is our Savior. It is sad seeing how many souls will not be with us in Heaven. If only they could let go of their worldly beliefs.
This world is too corrupt to believe anything that is taught here other then the truth of our one true God!!

Considering God is the main character in ancient myths, I want to please the world.

Neither.
It's not about pleasing anyone; It's about honour, ethics and morals.
