Midsummer night's dream question? Or just a general Shakespeare question...?

Okay, so I have an audition for Midsummer Night's Dream on Saturday, and I'm trying to really understand the monologue I'm doing for it. Can anyone help me? By the way, I didn't pick it--they did. So, I can't change it. Anyways, here's the monologue:

If we shadows have offended,

think but this and all is mended,

that you have but slumbered here

while these visions did appear,

and this weak and idle theme,

no more yielding but a dream,

gentles, do not reprehend.

If you pardon, we will mend.

And, as i am an honest Puck,

if we have an unearn-ed luck

now to scape the serpent's tongue,

we will make amends erelong,

else the Puck a liar call.

Good night unto you all.

Give me your hands if we be friends,

And Robin shall restore amends.

It's the final monologue in the play, and it's Puck's. I also need tips on how to act it out, since I have no idea. Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!

starts with an apology. mended means fix the offense. Think this was all a dream. Self deprecation (weak and idle theme). "gentles" -> don't blame us, let us fix it. "scape the serpent's tongue" means that the audience doesn't bad-mouth them. Give me your hands -> applause.

As for acting, this is a direct address to the audience. Keep your eye directly on the people looking at you. Start 8 feet from the apron, and come forward as you speak. Use your arms, but don't wander about.

I love this monologue!! It's wonderful. To sum it up, Puck is asking the audience for forgiveness if they haven't liked the play, and that if they applaud that he'll make things right again. If it makes them feel any better, then they can just say that it was a strange dream and they had all been sleeping.

It's not as difficult as it appears.

*Give me your hands (applaud) if we be friends (if you liked the play) and Robin shall restore amends (and all will be well).

Make sure you know what each line means (none of it is overly difficult, so you should be alright) and emphasize what you feel is either important or meaningful.
