Pain in thighs at night?

I am currently 24 weeks with my first baby. For the past week or so I have been having trouble sleeping because I wake up with the worst pain in my thighs. I roll over to the other side, fall back asleep, then wake up with the thigh I am laying on hurting, and it goes back and forth all night like this with me rolling from one side to the other and waking up every hour or so with one of my thighs hurting. Then when I finally get up in the morning both of my thighs are so sore all day like I pulled a muscle. I have tried to find information on this online but with no success.

Has anyone ever had this problem? If so, how did you deal with it? My next doctors appointment isn't until March 1st and I don't want to call about this just yet as I feel kinda silly calling about thigh pains. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

I've been having the same problem for about a month, I'm 36 weeks, I'm tired and cranky and annoyed to see how my husband is sleeping next to me!!

I didn't find anything that helped, if it gets really bad I just get up, sit by TV or PC for a while and then go back to sleep.

I think it's because of the weight gain and the pressure on the thighs

    good luck

It could be sciatic nerve issues. Those are pretty common.

I highly recommend buying a pregnancy body pillow. I had the Back 'N Belly, which is probably the biggest one out there but it was so comfy and it's symmetrical so you don't have to move the pillow if you roll over. I got mine at Target.com and there are plenty of reviews to back me up.

I don't know but I sure would like to know myself. I'm 13 weeks and it has been like this for about 2-3 weeks now! Mine started with my thighs and has also gone to my hips sometimes. It hurts so bad!

i had this with my first pregnancy, but not so much with my second, drink a lot more water, if that don't help tell your doctor, don't be embarrassed to ask questions because it could be serious. You never know it could be a blood clot. But try more water, that helped me.
