A disabled Vet has Veteran's Medical and Social Service Benefits. Why not contact the Veterans Administration!

That 59 year old disabled veteran should be being looked after by the VA unless his disability was not military related, then SSA should be asked about his care. The term "disabled veteran" cannot be applied to a veteran who got out of the military physically and medically healthy and then acquired disability as a civilian.

If he is a disabled vet he doesn't need medicaid. He needs to go to a VA clinic and get signed up. They will supply more help than any state program could.

Even if he is just a plane Veteran and not disabled in the service he gets free health care and there are other forms of help.

He needs to file a claim and then forget about it for a while.

Why can't he get to the VA? Is there none near where he lives? He should apply for SSI and Medicaid, then he can have treatment. Also, apply for SSD which does take some time but he should get started with it.

I am disabled, and when you make too much for medicaid, and are too young for Medicare, we have to get Social Security Disability (SS Di). Since he is a veteran, he definitely qualifies for something, particularly if his disability is related to his service.

If he makes less then the maximize allowed. Depends on the state he lives in . In Wis, he could get it if he makes less then $1,200 a month and has less then 4,000 dollars assets. not counting his car and home. they are exempted. Call your social services . There are things for disabled .

Yes, he can. Especially if he is already approved for and receiving disability payments (SSI or SSDI). He can also get housekeeping services from DHS and food stamps of some amount too.

He should try for it. I don't see a thing wrong with a disabled person getting help.
