Palin insists on the "speschal" label, when it is, in fact, part of the problem. If you keep treating people with Down Syndrome like they're some sort of different breed of people who need constant sheltering from the big, bad world (of jokes), you're only contributing to the discrimination pattern. Seriously, it's nothing to be ashamed of, so why was she upset that her son was referenced in correlation to his own syndrome, when it wasn't used in a derogatory manner? If her son didn't have this syndrome, yet it was used by the creators of Family Guy as a jab against him, that would indeed be an insult to the Down Syndrome community. But this? This is reality. Not an insult.

Either way, this actress sounds like a lovely person, and she certainly does a better job of defending the integrity of people with Down Syndome than Palin. And guess what? She goes for show instead of tell.

She has a Mom-like sense of humor. After what you put her through in the delivery room, it takes a lot to get a laugh out of her after that experience. And if you think that was bad, it was even worse when your sister was born... ....three hours on the table.... saddle block... they thought she was in the breech position, but then it turned out they were wrong... I could have had a normal delivery but the doctor made a bad call.... And you're like OK Mom I really DON'T want to think about that region of your anatomy AGAIN... it's like we've all heard this story only about a million times already...

What I see mostly is that liberals want to follow PC when it suits them only. They usually don't want to follow it when they are making fun of or calling Christians or Conservatives names.

In addition they want to see Conservatives/Christians follow PC 100%. See the constant references of racism for anyone who makes fun of or criticizes their Messiah.
